Chapter 514 - Chapter 514: The Restraint of Silver and Moonlight

At this moment, Robert was quite curious about what kind of skills Blade possessed that made March wary of him. Especially since Blade also seemed to have vampire blood, Robert hoped to see a different kind of vampire ability.

"Why is it suddenly so lively?" Kara's figure appeared beside Robert as he was watching Blade and March. She hadn't paid much attention to Robert earlier because she didn't think vampires and werewolves could pose a threat to him. As a superhero, she was more concerned about the safety of Frank's family to prevent them from encountering any danger after they left. If that happened, their effort to save Frank's family would have been in vain.

Therefore, even though Kara heard some commotion from Robert's side, she didn't care much. She assumed it was just Robert dealing with the vampires and werewolves. But she didn't expect to see so many people gathered around Robert after sending Frank's family off.

"Another one? Is she his companion? The situation is not favorable for us now!" March looked at the newly appeared Kara, his eyebrows furrowing. He didn't know Kara's strength, but he could sense that she, Robert, and Blade were all vaguely hostile towards the vampires. He didn't believe he could handle so many enemies, especially after Robert had demonstrated his formidable power.

"Ugh!"

"Ugh!"

As March was watching Kara warily, two vampires who had been buried in the ground by Robert earlier emerged from the earth in a sorry state. Their clothes were tattered, and they were covered in various injuries.

Robert hadn't used much strength against the deceased vampire earlier, but these two weren't as lucky. Surviving and crawling out from Robert's grip showed they were indeed fortunate...

"Such severe injuries?" Blade looked at the two vampires that had just climbed out, a hint of surprise in his eyes. He had followed March's group but kept his distance to avoid being detected. When he saw March and his team suddenly rushing out of their base, Blade suspected some special plot. With a deep hatred for vampires, he naturally wouldn't let their plans succeed, so he quietly followed.

However, due to the distance, Blade didn't see Robert's earlier action against the two vampires. Now, seeing their injuries, Blade became cautious towards Robert, uncertain of his identity and stance.

In theory, the enemy of my enemy is my friend, but sometimes, the enemy's enemy might not necessarily be an ally, especially when you don't know the enemy's background. It's better to be cautious.

"You didn't come over earlier, so I got some information from them and unexpectedly attracted so many people..." Robert explained to Kara telepathically, seeing that neither side was making a move.

As Kara and Robert began their secret communication, the scene fell silent. Everyone was quiet. Even Blade, who had intended to attack March, hesitated due to the uncertainty of Robert's strength and identity.

"Their injuries are really severe..." Blade couldn't hold back for long. His hatred for vampires was too intense. Seeing the two gravely injured vampires made him eager to eliminate them for their crimes.

"What now? Should I force an attack? The ancestors sent me here to investigate the situation in America, and the mission has just started. I've already encountered so much trouble. It's hard to explain this..." March frowned, contemplating.

"My strength is the greatest among our kind here. There's another werewolf, Nell, whose strength is close to mine, but he hasn't received the message yet. If he can't come, I'm afraid I don't have enough manpower to deal with so many strong enemies..."

"Should I retreat for now? These two can't survive anyway. Why not use their last bit of life to distract them so I can escape?"

With that thought, March felt tempted. Not knowing Robert's full strength, he didn't want to provoke him. He didn't even want to test him.

If he had been confident, he wouldn't have used the name of their ancestors to intimidate Robert earlier. Vampires are not a benevolent race. If there was a chance or if the difference in strength wasn't significant, March would have already attacked Robert to avenge his comrades!

"Swish!"

"Swish!"

As March began to feel tempted to leave, Blade finally couldn't hold back. Two darts flew towards the vampires. In the moonlight, Robert saw that the darts gleamed silver, indicating they were made of silver.

"Prepared indeed! These are weapons specifically for vampires?" Robert nodded, understanding as he watched the darts fly towards the vampires. He wanted to see how much extra damage these silver darts could inflict on them.

"Ugh!"

"Swish!"

"Sizzle!"

One of the two vampires, the slightly less injured one, dodged the silver dart, but the more seriously injured one wasn't so lucky. The dart pierced his chest, and immediately, a large amount of smoke rose from the wound, similar to when Robert used his solar punch against vampires.

Robert understood that as long as abilities that counter vampires were used, they could harm the vampires' life essence, causing them to feel like they were melting.

It was like ice suddenly melting. The smoke was the vampire's life essence evaporating. When the smoke fully dissipated, it meant the vampire's life was completely extinguished.

"Ugh!" As smoke rose continuously from the vampire's chest, the other vampire, who had dodged the dart, acted. He forced his power to pierce his companion's chest, pushing out the silver dart, which had lost its sheen.

Clearly, the dart wasn't entirely made of silver but merely coated with it.

"Buzz!" The vampire didn't rescue his companion to save his life. Under Robert's somewhat surprised gaze, the vampire bit into his companion, sucking his blood to heal himself and boost his power.

"Can they do that? They seem less like normal beings..." Robert muttered, watching the scene.

"Yeah, it even reminds me of shadow soldiers, though they have some self-awareness..." Kara nodded in agreement. "But I don't consider beings with such behavior to be intelligent life forms. They're more like beasts with extraordinary powers."

Kara had figured out why the vampire removed the silver dart. He feared the dart's damage and didn't want to hurt himself while absorbing his companion's blood and power, so he took what seemed like a rescue action.

However, Kara wasn't aware of March's plan to sacrifice his two comrades. If she knew, she might better understand the vampire's desperate actions to save himself.

"Bang!"

"Bang!"

"Bang!"

While Kara and Robert continued watching, Blade didn't stop. Bullets shot from his gun, and Robert saw clearly that these were special silver bullets, specifically made to combat vampires!

Blade's marksmanship was precise, blocking the vampire's escape routes. But the vampire, after absorbing his companion's blood and power, was no longer as afraid.

"Ugh!"

"Sizzle!"

The vampire used his companion's body as a shield, blocking every silver bullet. As his companion's body turned into smoke, leaving only a few remnants, the vampire showed no emotion. Instead, he disappeared from sight.

"Swish!" At this moment, March, who had planned to use his comrades as a distraction, saw an opportunity to escape, vanishing from the spot.

Robert noticed immediately and didn't want March to escape. Just as he was about to act, he raised an eyebrow, and Kara looked at the sky in surprise.

"Roar!"

A figure jumped down, landing beside March. It was a rugged-looking man who frowned at March. "What's going on? Why aren't you attacking?"

"Nell? Why are you here?" Nell's sudden appearance stopped March from leaving, leaving him speechless. The timing was too perfect, making March uncertain whether to leave or stay.

"Didn't you call me over? What's going on here? Why are there so many people? Ann, what are you doing over there? What's happening?" Nell frowned, displeased, and looked at Ann, who had previously bowed to Robert.

"Um..." Ann opened his mouth but, fearing Robert, didn't speak.

"I asked you a question!" Nell's face darkened, his body swelling and ripping his clothes, transforming into a werewolf.

"Interesting?" Robert's eyes lit up.

It wasn't his first time seeing a werewolf transform, but Nell was different. Robert sensed a power from the moonlight enhancing Nell, activating hidden strengths within him.

This was different from what Luke had mentioned. Luke said werewolf transformations were controllable, with full moons giving extra power. But Nell seemed to receive this boost without a full moon!

Robert knew Luke and Nell weren't from the same lineage. Luke's werewolves were enemies of vampires, fitting Ann's act of feigning allegiance to infiltrate the American werewolf and vampire circles without drawing too much attention, ensuring a successful infiltration...

"There's another power constantly enhancing him, making him stronger... Huh?" As Robert pondered Nell's unusual transformation, he sensed another presence approaching.
