Chapter 271 - Chapter 271: Your Captain

Kangping was different from Gozu. It wasn't just a matter of their strength.

It was mainly about the timing of the attack.

Since Iwagakure was the first to attack, Raijin needed to take out Gozu and Oonoki as quickly as possible.

So that Jigen wouldn't interrupt them during the process.

To be honest, after being interrupted by Jigen so many times, even Raijin's patience was starting to wear thin.

Every time he failed, it made him look foolish.

Because of that, there were things Raijin couldn't do to Gozu.

But Kangping was different. Now that Jigen had left...

Sunagakure was gone, and only Kangping was left here.

A living Kangping.

So, apart from using him to unload some things and let Orochimaru and Senju Tobirama study him...

Why not take advantage of such a powerful asset? If Raijin didn't, it would feel like a waste after working so hard to get his Tenseigan.

Raijin shoved the green chakra ball into Kangping's head.

After a violent twitching, a obedient and powerful puppet appeared beside Raijin.

For a long time in the future, although it would be difficult for Raijin to improve the quality of his own strength,

he could still work on increasing the quantity.

It's almost the same.

One Kangping and one Otsutsuki Toneri should be enough to deal with Uchiha Madara without much problem.

At the same time, Raijin also figured out how Kangping got the white wedge.

A person who died and came back to life...

The process of carving the wedge should be the same, but Uchiha Shin didn't actually die.

In that case...

Maybe the black wedge on Uchiha Shin is how this technique is supposed to look?

This is such a hassle...

What good person could guess the purpose of a technique they've never seen before?

So, rather than focusing on the mark on Uchiha Shin, it would be better to research how to capture that Jigen alive.

Raijin was very interested in what was in Jigen's head.

But that space-time Ninjutsu is really troublesome...

Sigh...

The only thing that can counter space-time Ninjutsu is space-time Ninjutsu.

I need to figure out how to get close to that guy.

Raijin turned to glance at the spot where Jigen had been standing earlier.

But anyway, this time it wasn't a wasted effort.

From now on, the hidden village in the ninja world would only have Konohagakure left.

At least, that's how it looked on the surface.

"Wasted."

Tsunade's voice pulled Raijin back from his thoughts. He gave a light laugh and looked at her.

The dark clouds in the sky slowly dispersed, and patches of sunlight began to shine through.

In the sunlight, Tsunade's delicate profile became even fairer.

I don't even know when it happened, but the little girl who used to cry in my arms has grown up so much.

"Hmm..."

Raijin's gaze shifted and landed on the now ruined Sunagakure.

After hesitating for a moment, Raijin tentatively spoke to Tsunade.

"Actually... if you look carefully, you should still find some of the old stuff."

"You're good at living, huh?"

Tsunade couldn't help but laugh, then lightly jumped and threw her arm over Raijin's shoulder. The two of them walked toward Konohagakure's main army.

On the way, Jiraiya and Orochimaru approached.

As the four of them merged into the crowd, Raijin's voice echoed.

"Clean up the battlefield!"

The war, which lasted less than two days, ended with the fall of Sunagakure and Iwagakure.

If I had to summarize this war, it would be...

The number one and number two fought, the number three watched, and the number four and number five died.

...

"My lord, the war... is over."

Black Zetsu appeared in front of Uchiha Madara to report the result of the war.

"So, you still haven't found the Six-Tails?"

With his eyes half-closed, Uchiha Madara reclined in his chair, gently tapping the armrest with one finger.

Hearing Black Zetsu's words, Uchiha Madara's finger paused suddenly.

That was fast...

It was really too fast.

Faster than... when a ninja team goes out on a mission.

That was a war...

Of course, that's not important. What really matters is that the mysterious ninja didn't put in any effort.

Such cold-bloodedness...

Even those who served him could be discarded without hesitation.

So, what is he concerned about?

"Well... still looking..."

Black Zetsu paused in surprise, then helplessly bit his lip before speaking to Uchiha Madara.

It's difficult to find a tailed beast once it's already been revived. If it's not found right away, it becomes even harder.

After all, the tailed beasts are not objects. They can move.

They can also hide.

Although they are big, they are not easy to find.

"Let's go, I'm getting annoyed."

Uchiha Madara immediately turned to Black Zetsu and spoke, rolling over in his chair as he did.

"Yes."

Seeing this, Black Zetsu didn't dare say much more and silently disappeared.

This is tough...

In a lonely cave, Black Zetsu crouched in a corner, covering his face with one hand.

Oh my god... there are people in the ninja world who can hide better than me...

...

…

"Maybe... we should just give up."

In the same cave, Otsutsuki Isshiki sat cross-legged on a large rock, resting his chin on his hand, looking at a small bump on the wall. He sighed helplessly.

As an intergalactic farmer who only cares about planting trees, Otsutsuki Isshiki really didn't want to spend his time on things that had little to do with planting trees.

He didn't want to, and he wasn't good at it.

Otsutsuki Isshiki suddenly felt the urge to find a place to hide and wait quietly for Momoshiki and the others to come here and clean up the mess.

But that wouldn't work...

Senjutsu, Senjutsu, Senjutsu! A month or two is okay.

A year or two, he could tough it out.

But if it's ten or twenty years, how strong would Uchiha Raijin be by then? Otsutsuki Isshiki couldn't handle that kind of consequence.

So, even though it's difficult, he had to grit his teeth and keep going.

Let this barren land give birth to its own training system.

That means watching a civilization rise that might destroy the Otsutsuki civilization.

At that point, it wouldn't just be him who couldn't plant trees anymore.

But the real problem is, how to solve it?

Konohagakure is not without the strength to resist him.

In fact, if it were one-on-one, he might not even be able to win.

During this time, he had been jumping all over the place, looking very lively.

But in reality, he was just creating two escape routes for himself.

Right now, he had no way to deal with Konohagakure.

It seemed like Konohagakure had suffered a central explosion, and the whole village turned into a ruin.

But so what? It was just some money lost.

And not a single person died.

Moreover, Konohagakure's strength was steadily increasing.

He didn't even know what those strange eyes could do.

Think of something...

Otsutsuki Isshiki's face was filled with sorrow.

Why does an intergalactic farmer who just wants to plant trees have to go through this suffering?

This is all Otsutsuki Kaguya's fault!...

Compared to Uchiha Madara's annoyance and Otsutsuki Isshiki's breakdown, things were much more cheerful on the Konohagakure side.

~~

After a big victory, celebration was inevitable.

Tonight, Konohagakure was brightly lit.

The vast village was filled with endless laughter and joy.

With his chin resting in one hand and the other casually holding a wine glass, Raijin looked at Tsunade, who was shining in the spotlight.

Raijin couldn't help but laugh.

It was clear that Tsunade was happy.

Genuinely happy.

The reason?

Because Tsunade had fulfilled her grandfather's wish.

Four of the five great hidden villages were gone, and the future of the ninja world would see a long period of peace.

Although there were still the threats of Jigen and Uchiha Madara.

But overall, it was peace.

"Don't you want to join everyone?"

Orochimaru had somehow appeared next to Raijin.

"What do you want me to do? Just listen to you?"

Raijin, hearing this, leaned over the desk and glanced at Orochimaru. He noticed the wine glass in front of him and lightly clinked it with his own.

"I really didn't expect Konohagakure to end up like this."

Looking at the lively scene, Orochimaru said with some emotion.

"I didn't expect it either. That Ninjutsu genius from back then, now walking the path of research. Are you planning to stay at the Konohagakure research center for the rest of your life?"

Raijin asked Orochimaru.

"Is there something wrong with staying at the Konohagakure research center for the rest of my life?"

Orochimaru raised an eyebrow at Raijin's question and countered.

"You're the type who can handle loneliness."

Raijin nodded at this, realizing that someone like Orochimaru was naturally gifted. Most people would struggle with cold data like that.

"Loneliness? Why would I feel lonely? I once thought that Ninjutsu was the most profound thing in this world, and that Lightning Release Jutsu was the ultimate form of Ninjutsu."

Orochimaru said, taking a sip of his drink as he spoke to Raijin.

"Then you developed the Dust Release Jutsu."

Raijin nodded, remembering the time when Orochimaru asked him for his thoughts on it. He still vividly recalled that moment.

"Yeah, I developed Dust Release. Honestly, did you ever laugh at me for that back then?"

Orochimaru plopped down beside Raijin and asked him.

Compared to most people who weren't familiar with him, Orochimaru preferred to communicate with Raijin.

It felt comfortable.

"No, I didn't. Well, at least not openly..."

Raijin looked at Orochimaru and slowly said, noticing the expectation in Orochimaru's eyes.

"It was a little... strange."

"When I first heard you developed the Lightning Release, my first thought was to quietly take you out and pretend nothing happened."

Orochimaru said with a bit of helplessness. Thinking about it now, it was an embarrassing memory that made him feel awkward.

"But now, with the appearance of Senjutsu, it's truly a great technique. But I can't help but think... just like when we lived in the era of Ninjutsu, thinking that Ninjutsu was everything and Chakra was the only power we could control..."

"Then Senjutsu appeared."

Orochimaru's voice carried deep longing.

The appearance of Senjutsu expanded Orochimaru's worldview. Now, Orochimaru no longer limited himself to Ninjutsu or Senjutsu but was looking toward even more distant unknowns.

Just like Raijin developed Lightning Release, and Orochimaru developed Dust Release.

Raijin developed Senjutsu, and Orochimaru wanted to develop a technique independent of Senjutsu.

"Greedy."

Raijin said, nodding at Orochimaru.

Orochimaru chuckled at this. If anyone else had said that, Orochimaru would have immediately attacked with Wind Release. But Raijin?

They were old friends, and Orochimaru believed Raijin was just joking around.

"You still haven't mastered Senjutsu, and you want to develop another technique?"

Raijin asked Orochimaru.

"Did you have all the knowledge when you developed Senjutsu? Did you fully understand Ninjutsu when you worked on it?"

Orochimaru immediately retorted, thinking Raijin had been joking.

"I was waiting for your support."

"How could it be the same?"

Raijin straightened up and looked at Orochimaru in front of him.

"Senjutsu is a technique that already exists. Don't you know where it comes from? And if you want to develop a new power system, first you need to discover a kind of energy, then analyze whether this energy can be controlled.

And all of this takes time. Come on, tell me, how many more years can you live?"

With one hand resting on his chin, Raijin winked at Orochimaru.

"I can live for many more years, and I'm probably not going to die anytime soon," Orochimaru said proudly.

The existence of Senjutsu filled Orochimaru's heart with confidence.

At least, before Senju Tobirama died, Orochimaru knew he wouldn't be dying anytime soon.

"However, what you said does make sense."

After saying that, Orochimaru spoke to Raijin.

"Don't think it's as simple as just developing something new. Even if you really develop a new system, is it suitable for you right now? If it causes a conflict with the chakra in your body, or with natural energy, which one will you choose?"

Raijin, hearing this, continued to respond to Orochimaru's question.

"If you want to develop a completely new and unknown system, you must first practice the existing power system to its peak. Only when you reach that point will you know what you really need. When you know what you need, you can take the next step.

Otherwise, if you don't even know what you want, how can you develop anything?"

Finally, Raijin summarized to Orochimaru.

"You're right."

Orochimaru pursed his lips, reluctantly agreeing with Uchiha Raijin.

One thing about talking with Raijin is that he always gives you more mature advice. Unlike Jiraiya, who just yells and shouts.

"Of course, I'm the one who knows best," Raijin said, rolling his eyes and giving Orochimaru a dismissive look.

"Who are you?" Orochimaru asked with a smile, looking at Raijin.

"Your captain," Raijin replied, blinking.
