He could only be this patient and soft towards his mother and now this nanny. Now they understood how special she was to him…it was exactly as they've been told.
"I knew it!" Rose exclaimed in excitement. There was no way that shrew would have turned out to be my daughter in-law."
Both Sir Washington and Edward sighed in relief. However, Edward still sounded unsatisfied as he smirked almost immediately.
"And what consequences are those you spoke of?" he cut in in a tone sharp with indignation. "My daughter's memory has been desecrated because of this woman, and you didn't think to consult me? Or at least inform us?"
There was a steely glint in Jace's blue eyes as his gaze flickered briefly to Edward. What was there to consult him about? Shouldn't he be happy that the matter has been resolved? If not for the respect he'd developed for him over the years, he would have outrightly ignored him. Why was he always only concerned about his image and no one else's?
