Chapter 1 - The beginning

Jane stared at the small white stick in her hand, her heart racing with anticipation. Two pink lines stared back at her, confirming what she had suspected for weeks. She was pregnant. A mix of emotions swirled inside her – excitement, anxiety, and a hint of fear about the unknown.

"Mark!" she called out, her voice trembling slightly. Her husband walked into the bathroom, a questioning look on his face. "What is it?" he asked, noticing the look on her face.

Jane held out the pregnancy test, her hands shaking. Mark's eyes widened as he took in the sight of the two lines. A huge grin spread across his face. "We're having a baby!" he exclaimed, sweeping Jane into a tight hug.

As they hugged, Jane couldn't help but feel a wave of anxiety wash over her. She had always dreamed of being a mother, but now that it was becoming a reality, she couldn't shake off the doubts. What if she wasn't good enough? What if she messed up? The thoughts swirled in her mind like a tornado.

Jane's mind began to wander to all the things she needed to do – prenatal appointments, parenting classes, and preparing the nursery. She felt a sense of overwhelm creeping in, but Mark's reassuring smile kept her grounded.

"We've got this," he whispered, as if reading her thoughts.

Together, they took their first step into the unknown, hand in hand, ready to face whatever motherhood had in store for them. But as they walked out of the bathroom, Jane couldn't shake off the feeling that this journey would be more than just a joyride – it would be an agony of love, sacrifice, and self-discover
