Chapter 159 - Chapter 157: Red-Eyed Heavenly White Spider Of Golden Threads

-----

Paul was able to do something that would've been considered impossible or outright cheating by the majority of players, infusing the immense power and energy of his limited-time transformation into the Territory Beast Guardian Egg to the point the beast inside evolved to a completely new specimen.

Although it still was the same spider as before, its evolution helped the creature reach a new form that was probably never registered before in any sort of information center within the game system, probably giving Paul a "???" instead of a species name.

Ding!

[Congratulations! The {Territory Beast Guardian Egg} has successfully absorbed all the energy offered, transforming and evolving into a {Heavenly Millenary Beast Egg}!]

[The original {Territory Guardian Beast}: [Dark Spider of Shadow Webs: Abyssia (D Rank)] has absorbed the energies to the point of evolving into the [Red-Eyed Heavenly White Spider of Golden Threads: ???]!]

[The current circumstances have created a new type of Territory Guardian Beast not registered before; therefore, it has no name.]

[To further strengthen your bond, do you wish to name this new species?]

"Wow, it really evolved into something unique…"

From what he could see in this message, it seemed that whatever the species name would become, it would be based on the name he gave to the spider.

"Uh, although I am not so sure if it'll be a good one, I'll give it a name if it's necessary."

He ended up speaking out loud rather than thinking those words, making Chris notice him speaking.

"A name, huh? Be careful not to give her a lame one, though!"

Chris quickly reached his side, glaring at him with stern eyes.

He better give it a good name!

"I-I know…!" Paul sighed. "Hmm, actually I don't really know what name could fit a holy spider of white and gold colors… Any ideas, guys?"

"Hmmm… Goldie! Or Whitey?" Emerlinda wondered, quickly coming out with a rather subpar pair of names, which weren't even that good for a species name either way.

"How about giving it a grandiose name like that of a god or goddess?" Gofumina asked. "Is it a male or female?"

"I don't really know… But I think it's a female," said Paul.

"How about Artemis then?" Gofumina asked. "Or you could go for Aurora, Aura, Andromeda, and so on."

"They sound a bit too much for a spider, though…" Paul muttered, rubbing his chin as he saw the spider eating their own eggshell rather scrumptiously. "Well, they aren't bad… Any ideas, Chris?"

"Uhhh, not that many," Chris muttered. "You could give her a name based on her element. Perhaps something like… Ah, I don't know…"

"And you told me to choose carefully, huh?" Paul raised an eyebrow.

"Don't rub it on my face…" Chris groaned. "I'm a bit tired, so I don't really feel like thinking too hard."

"It's alright. I guess I'll go with… Huh, screw it, Artemis it is." Paul nodded. "I liked that one."

FLASH!

Suddenly, a bright golden light encompassed the spider as she glowed brightly for a moment, gaining a bit more power. It seemed that giving her a name made her stronger.

Ding!

[You have named your {Territory Guardian Beast}: [Red-Eyed Heavenly White Spider Of Golden Threads: ???] as [Artemis]!]

[The new name has granted Artemis a boost to her power and the strength of her Abilities.]

[Her future abilities might develop based on the name she was given.]

"Wait, what? Based on the name she was given…?"

Paul felt slightly perplexed about that little detail, which wasn't stated at all until he actually gave her a name.

Now she was locked with Artemis…

"Oh well, what's done is done…"

He decided to not worry too much either way; the beast's birth ended up being a total success, and he ended up getting an immensely strong guardian beast right away.

Artemis' very presence already created some sort of domain around her and the entire territory; an invisible, very weak barrier was already set over the entire city.

This barrier was rather faint, but Paul knew that it could continuously grow stronger as the beast itself grew more powerful.

As he glanced at Artemis, a new window popped up.
