TOAA - The One Above All

Before I could react, a voice rang out — deep yet calm — originating from a being of pure radiant light — similar to myself before making my characters.

The massive hand still gripping me belonged to this being.

"Ah... a Child of the Most High — so diminished, and in the Primordial Void no less.

This is... beyond intriguing." The being stated while frowning.

As I took a moment to inspect myself, realizing I was back to a dim humanoid form, I retorted.

"Are you saying I am a Child of God?!" I blurted out as I finally processed his words.

The being's eyes seemed to glow in amusement and... maybe nostalgia?

"That you are," he confirmed. "Normally, only His children are spiritually immortal and indestructible.

That... being the only possible reason I can think of for the Primordial Void to not instantly assimilate you.

However..." He paused, his gaze scrutinizing me. "You seem to have made multiple unwise choices. Your brilliance should — normally — at least match mine, if you are travelling the Primordial Void.

Leaving you in said Void as you are now... is probably not a good idea."

Sighing to himself, he whispered. "On the other hand, Oblivion is becoming more, and more desperate. I need to find a repla-"

He cut himself off mid-word, his expression shifting from weary to serious.

His brow rose. Pulling me closer, he looked at me intensely — as if studying me or searching for something.

"Uh, everything okay there, Sir? What is your name anyway?"

In response he stated "It is only good manners to introduce yourself before asking for the other party's identity."

Continuing his examination of me he went on. "However given your-" he continues while spinning his other hand's wrist in an outward circle.

"-Circumstances and the way your spiritual body seems to have fused with the void, while maintaining your dim light... this could work." He seemed to have finished.

"Nevertheless, if you must know, my name is The One Above All, or like kids nowadays who love their abbreviations call me, 'TOAA.'" He actually finished.

"Oh, TOAA. Okay, nice...

.

.

.

WAIT!?

THE TOAA?!

THE ONE ABOVE ALL TOAA?!

AREN'T YOU A COMIC CHARACTER?!" I blurted out.

With a slight grin, He smoothly answered. "You meant cosmic, and yes, the one and only.

However seeing as you are here, you should already know of our brethren, did Father... not explain anything?" He finished asking with a thoughtful expression adorning his countenance.

The surprise — clear as day on my features — only reaffirmed my next words to him. "Our brethren? Wait... was I supposed to meet Him first?"

With a slightly exasperated sigh, he continued. "Yes, our brethren. You are not His only Child out there exploring the omniverse and beyond.

And yes, you were supposed to meet Father before being sent out...

Unless He believed it would interfere with your mission.

Which — given your current condition, and assuming you used all your light rather than let it be assimilated by the Void — means you would have gone to Heaven without hesitation, had you been given the option.

Which would have made your mission impossible... if it needed to be completed before arriving at Heaven.

So for the final question: how many covenants did you make with Father before dying?"

With my eyes widening in shock and awe at my now-confirmed brother's explanation, I answered honestly.

"I was not able to make the most important one before dying."

With recognition clear in his eyes, he nodded and then spoke up. "Same as me, however we used our light in completely different ways while in the void."

Breathing in deeply, he exhaled actual mist in apparent exasperation before continuing.

"If only you had been more patient, or tried to experiment in a different way."

In a blink, I was sitting across from him on a sofa. He leaned forward, forehead in his palm, eyes full of pity, exasperation... and care.

"Fine, I can work with this. And you, as my brother (even with most of your light depleted) definitely have more potential for development than any of my creations.

Taking into account solely the way we and they were created; meaning...

You can grow, possibly fulfill your mission, and help me."

He smiled softly, but in his eyes I noticed a dark mischievousness baring its fangs at me through his gaze.

"All the while providing me with entertainment. Yes... that will do nicely." He let out a soft chuckle, that grated my ears like a dark foreboding bell.

"So how would you like to become an Abstract Lord?" He asked in mock seriousness, letting me know he was looking for amusement, but the offer was serious.

In slight shock, after processing his earlier words, and the three requirements I made for this character I spoke up. "Are you serious? I would be delighted!

Honestly, I thought you were going to give me a small job — look after someone, stay here, do this, don't do that. But if you want me to be an Abstract Lord...

I am more than willing." I ended with a beaming smile.

"Wonderful" He replied, the mischievous glint returning to his eyes.

Remembering when he slightly mentioned another Abstract Lord otherwise known as Oblivion I asked him.

"Would I become Oblivion then?"

Letting out an appreciative chuckle, and slow claps he praised. "That is correct, good job junior. You may learn how to actually use your brain yet."

Rewarding his sarcasm with the deadest deadpan look I could produce I replied.

"Funny, but I assume wishes, perks or transactions between us will be allowed, considering our backgrounds, and how we operate.

So, which will it be?"

Replying with his own deadpan he says. "That was a waste of words, you literally just mentioned our mutual backgrounds you KNOW we deal in transactions not wishes, nor perks.

Now let's get a move on, I may not look like it, but I do have duties — which may or may not include watching you for personal amusement from now on — make your wishes, and I will give you the terms I will impose on you in exchange for them."

.

.

.

After some time discussing things back and forth we finally settle on my wishes and his own terms on them.

"Alright let's settle things, what do you think of this?:

Transactions:

1st: Become an abstract Lord, specifically Oblivion.

2nd: Become an Oblivion adapted Giratina, transforming you into the Abstract Lord of Nothingness, Nonexistence, Matter, and Antimatter.

3rd: Become the extra dimensions connected to your concepts e.g. Mirror Dimension, Negative Zone, your own Distorted World, and finally the Inescapable Lost Zone.

In exchange your main realms will be connected to a single universe, and you will be unable to enter other universes unless you are provoked, invited or allowed in."

"Basically a Cosmic Vampire, that drains existence, instead of blood." I add off handedly.

"Quite." He says, as he continues.

"Last but not least, Giving you a modified Absolute Personal Mastery, which will lock your obsessions from both Oblivion and Giratina solely on protecting the Inescapable Lost Zone and its contents."

Quickly cutting in I say. "But I will still allow you, my inner circle, and natural need, order, creation gods, etc. to take the energy for their creations and will, right?"

I ask, as I have no delusions in how massively the totality of the obsessions of not one, but two multi/omni-versal level beings focused on one thing will overpower all sense of reason I have.

Grumbling slightly to himself TOAA answers. "Yes, we already talked about it.

Including that in exchange of this concession on that requirement, I added that you would be unable to edit any requirement placed upon you by transactions with Modified Absolute Personal Mastery."

We nod to each other, agreeing completely on the terms of our transactions, before he speaks up.

"Right, another thing is that I will reserve the right to manipulate your universe as I see fit for my entertainment" Cough cough "The universe's balance."

I huff in frustration, but nod none the less.

He however still isn't done. "Look, I know this must be beyond frustrating, but take into account that I am sadly not the only Omnipotent being in this Omniverse."

I freeze as I remember something, something that sent a chill down my spine. "You don't mean!" I stand up panicked.

Finally recognizing where the darkness and grating in his eyes and voice comes from.

"You fused with your other half to meet me?!"

With a chilling gaze he nods at me, before speaking in a soothing, calm voice.

"Honestly I believe this was the best decision I made.

In this case we both made every decision together, and will not be going out of our way to make your universe become apocalyptic every other second.

However, we will still make sure there is balance in your universe as that is the theme of our omniverse, balance in all things.

It is also the reason that when an unknown brother appeared outside our omniverse we fused temporarily in case we needed to fend you off.

Remember our brethren are supposed to at least match our light — unlike you.

We expected a fight to happen.

Thankfully it didn't, and we made a deal.

Though expect a massive weakness, even if only active in intervals to be added to you soon.

I may have been incredibly fair, but knowing our roots, you will strive for order, and my other half will not stand for that.

Once you reach a certain point of Order versus Chaos, Good versus Evil, He WILL intervene.

Once and He will add a massive weakness that is cyclical, and impossible to prevent.

Twice and He will empower an enemy, organization, civilization, etc. to sow chaos and evil in you universe.

If Order or Good overtakes Chaos or Evil completely for a third time He will appear himself.

By then I hope you will have at least learned how to properly use your light, and defend yourself and your cherished ones, my brother."

He says as his palm thrusts forward, hitting me in the chest.

I see a shadow separate from his body before everything goes dark and I lose consciousness...
