"Kaelan?" Vinnandra repeated with a chuckle, "as if." She said dismissively but she stopped laughing when she realized that both Xander and Kai didn't seem to share in her private joke.
"Surely you do not mean to think that Kaelan Baldrig, recent graduate of the Riders and Dragon's Academy, big joke that he is and very good at not taking anything serious could be remotely behind something like this which has been going on for ten years?" Vinn rattled off, her eyes darting between the two men to gauge if they were just pulling at her legs or perhaps something even worse.
But Xander was no longer looking at her. Instead, his full attention was on the Assassin who had been glaring at them all the while.
"I've removed your gag," he said to the man, "Since you've been listening to our theories I am sure you've a lot you want to share with us."
