Zaren sat casually on a stone, recording something on paper while Xander went to him to explain everything that had happened on their side, together with the decision they had made.
Casually, the man stroked Carex on his long neck, "Be a good boy and go and scout the area for us. Do not engage and return at the the first instance of any news."
Carex, against the very image of what ever a grand dragon should stand for, snuggled into the caress of Zaren's palm causing Xander to smile smugly.
He too touched Carex on the head, smacking him as one would a naughty boy much to Vinn's horror. Carex fist recoil away from the touch nor did he glare at the man who was not his rider. Instead he 'cooed' into the touch.
Unwittingly, Vinn was forced to confront the possibility that Carex's name had more to it than she originally thought. Surely, Zaren hadn't name his dragon 'Caress', hence denoting the last two letters to resemble the ancient language.
