Chapter 14 - Realisation, Regret and Shithousery.

I forgot this part so I updated the last chapter.

---------

"Kai!" Iruka yelled me as I entered the classroom. He was standing near the door with a meek and scared Sakura standing behind him.

"Yes, Sensei! How may I be of service to our glorious nation?! I am always ready to give up my life for this great nation!" I exclaimed standing upright and placing my hand on my chest.

"Wha- Not that! I am talking about what you wrote in that letter to Sakura!" Iruka yelled, confused but still angry.

"I do not remember any letter that written by me to Sakura, Sensei!" I continued holding my stance.

"Don't lie! How does a kid like you even know all those kinds of words! Even Sakura didn't know what half of them meant and thank god she didn't! If you don't apologize to her right now and promise not to ever use those words again, I will have to contact Mrs. Yoshino! She said that I should talk with her for matters regarding you, and we both know how she is!" Iruka yelled.

With those last few lines, my heart sank. I loved Yoshino, she was like a mother to me, but she was too cruel, I may have toughened myself up, but getting beaten with a stick and belt still hurts! I still forget the time when she beat me and Shika with a stick after we accidentally destroyed her vase!

People of this era were exactly like how my actual mother from my past life described people from her time, even the Uncles and Aunts didn't have any mercy!

If Yoshino ever caught wind of me using words like those, I'd be as good as dead!

With those thoughts, I fell down to Iruka Sensei's legs and Shikamaru followed behind, knowing he too was gonna get a piece if I was involved.

"PLEASE NO SENSEI!!! PLEASE HAVE MERCY!" We both exclaimed at the same time, begging for Iruka to have mercy on our poor souls and spare us from torment.

Iruka was shocked, but as this was normal, he sighed and said, "Stand up both of you!".

We both stood up, looking Sensei in his eyes, hoping he would have mercy on us.

Iruka looked down into our eyes and then at me, "Kai! Apologize to Sakura! I need it to be a heartfelt apology!".

I nodded and turned around and looked at Sakura.

I saw a scared and timid girl hiding behind Iruka's leg, yet she also possessed a look of worry in her face, as if she were worried about us, but nonetheless, as I turned towards her, she cowered behind.

Seeing this, regret welled up inside of me.

Was it ok to have said those words to someone?

Hell yeah it was!

But it's not like I was fourteen right now and they were fourteen, all of us were kids! And seeing her being so scared because of me, it made me regret what I had said to her and what I wrote to her. Poor girl.

I bowed my head infront of Sakura and poured whatever I could into my apology, "I am sorry Sakura! Please forgive me!".

Sakura surprised and also flustered, came out from behind Iruka's leg and said, "It's... It's ok.... Just don't be mean again!".

I nodded and then looked up at Iruka again,"Anything else Sensei?" I asked.

Iruka smiled and patted my head, "See? It wasn't so hard! You need to start being kind, even if not too much, just a being a little bit could make a big difference! It's alright, don't ever swear again, you two can back to your seats." He said as he pushed me and Shika towards our seats as Sakura walked back to her own.

Then Naruto appeared.

And then he started bugging me, "Yo Kai! You said would teach me a jutsu today if I came on time! What jutsu are you gonna teach me?!"

I made a mistake by trying to get close to Naruto, but the quest rewards were too fucking tempting.

"Not now, Naruto. After the academy, now be quiet and leave me in peace." I said to Naruto who still continued talking but I ignored him.

Then I walked to my seat besides Sasuke who smiled at me and said, "Good Morning Bro!" I nodded, smiling.

Finally, he picked up on something.

Then I looked at the Choji sitting below us.

I swear, Choji is the most chill dude in the academy. I don't know why my boy isn't given enough screen time in the anime.

Choji offered chips to me and I gladly accepted.

Shika sat down beside me and glared at me, "You nearly got us both fucked there! What did you do?!"

I sighed, "It's complex and troublesome."

Shika snorted, "Troublesome" and sat quietly.

After that, Iruka started the lecture.

Which I tuned out.

After sometime, it was now time for the main thing, sparring.

We quickly got out of the class and entered the training ground.

The first few spars were boring and not important.

Then it was my turn and I was against Kiba.

"Kai! Stop being lazy and come here and enter the circle!" Called out Iruka.

I sighed and mumbled, "Troublesome." Before I got up and entered the circle.

It wasn't something to be worried about.

By all means, Kiba is much better than me at Taijutsu. But I am not worried because of the difference between our strength and speed.

I am the tallest kid in our class and also the fastest and probably the strongest, equal to Choji. The difference in our physical capabilities is too big.

The only reason I am bad at Taijutsu is because they hadn't taught us Taijutsu yet at the clan and I didn't have any other way of learning any Taijutsu style.

Kiba smirked and said, "Watch me beat up this lazy ass Nara. Then, all the girls will like me instead of him. He is just good looking is all."

I then smirked and in some strange way, my hair seemed to turn white for a moment and I said, "Nah, I'd win."

Iruka then said, "Form the sign of confrontation!"

After that, both me and Kiba formed the sign of confrontation and Iruka yelled, "Begin!"

As soon Iruka said that, Kiba lunged at me and aimed a punch at my gut, moving skillfully.

As expected of a clan heir.

I dodged the attack and kicked his face, hard.

Kiba staggered back and yelled in pain, his face was red, swollen from my kick.

My movements were rough and unrefined, unskilful. But I was just that much faster and stronger than Kiba.

Kiba glared at me with white hot rage and moved forward, aiming to punch me in the face.

I smirked and stepped out of the trajectory of the punch, but I wasn't smirking for long.

Uagh!

A kick landed on my abdomen, and it hit hard.

I staggered back, completely caught off-guard by the kick.

I was shit at taijutsu afterall.

Kiba smirked and then threw another punch.

Barely regaining my senses, I had to block the attack right before it hit me.

Kiba's smirk fell and he threw another punch.

I grabbed his fist and pulled him back, hoping to push out of the ring to end the fight.

Kiba, clearly not having expected this, was shocked and stumbled forward, almost stepping out of the ring but he quickly turned around and launched a kick at my face.

I was stunned, surprised at the fact how quickly he retaliated, and was only able to raise my hand in time, placing it between my face and the foot of Kiba, preventing my face from fully taking the impact of the kick.

The kick landed on my hand and it's force pushed me to the side, nearly making me fall and leaving a stinging pain in my hand.

Regaining my senses, I grabbed Kiba's leg before he retreated it and pulled his leg back, planning to lift him up and slam him on the ground.

Kiba was stunned, he was still a young kid who didn't know how to respond to situations like these, so he was left defenseless.

Using my strength, I lifted Kiba up and slammed him onto the ground.

"Blegh!" Spit came out of Kiba's mouth as he was slammed onto the ground, shortly falling unconscious because of the impact and because his head made contact with the ground first.

The training ground fell silent for a moment as everyone stared at the unconscious Kiba lying on the ground. I stood there, breathing heavily, my hand still stinging from the kick. Iruka quickly rushed over to check on Kiba, while the rest of the class erupted into murmurs and whispers.

"Damn, Kai! That was brutal!" Naruto shouted, breaking the silence with his usual loudness. He was grinning from ear to ear, clearly impressed.

Choji, who had been munching on chips during the entire spar, nodded in approval. "Nice one, Kai. You really showed him."

Sasuke, sitting cross-legged on the sidelines, gave me a smile and nodded, "That was great! But you are pretty at Taijutsu. You have no technique."

Iruka, after confirming that Kiba was just knocked out and not seriously injured, turned to me with a stern look. "Kai, that was excessive. You need to learn control. Sparring is about improving your skills, not knocking your classmates unconscious."

I scratched the back of my head, feigning innocence. "Sorry, Sensei. I didn't mean to hit him that hard. I guess I just got... carried away by my overwhelming talent."

Iruka's eye twitched. "Overwhelming talent? Kai, you tripped over your own feet twice during that match."

I waved my hand dismissively. "Details, Sensei. Details. The important thing is that I won, right?"

Iruka sighed deeply, pinching the bridge of his nose. "Just... sit down, Kai."

I nodded and stepped out of the sparring circle, heading back to my spot. As I walked past Sakura, she gave me a small smile, her earlier fear seemingly forgotten. "That was... impressive," she said softly.

I smirked and gave her a thumbs-up. "Thanks, Sakura."

As I sat down, Shikamaru leaned over and whispered, "Troublesome, huh? You really went all out on him."

I shrugged. "He started it.".

Shikamaru chuckled. "Fair enough. But you're gonna have to deal with him when he wakes up. He's not gonna let this go easily."

I groaned. "Great. Just what I needed."

The rest of the sparring matches went by without much excitement. Naruto ended up losing to Sasuke, as usual, but he took it in stride, vowing to beat him next time. Choji won his match against one of the other kids, and Sakura managed to hold her own against Ino, though their match ended in a draw.

Once the sparring session was over, Iruka gathered us all together. "Good work today, everyone. Remember, sparring is about learning and improving. It's not about winning or losing. Keep that in mind for next time."

We all nodded, though I could tell some of us were more focused on the winning part than the learning part.

As we were dismissed, Naruto ran up to me, his usual energetic self. "Kai! You promised to teach me a jutsu after class! Come on, let's go!"

I sighed but couldn't help but smile at his enthusiasm. "Alright, alright. Let's go to the training ground. But don't blame me if you can't get it right away."

Naruto grinned. "I'll get it in no time! Believe it!"

After class, Naruto practically dragged me to the training ground, his enthusiasm uncontainable. Shikamaru and Sasuke, curious about what was going on, decided to tag along. Shikamaru because he was bored and had nothing better to do, and Sasuke because, well, he was Sasuke. He always had to be in the know.

"Alright, Naruto," I said, stretching my arms as we reached the training ground. "The jutsu I'm going to teach you is the *Clone Jutsu*. It's a basic technique, but it's essential for any ninja. Got it?"

Naruto's face fell slightly. "The Clone Jutsu? But that's so boring! I thought you were gonna teach me something cool, like a fireball or something!"

I raised an eyebrow. "Naruto, you can't even do the Clone Jutsu properly. How do you expect to pull off a fireball? You've gotta crawl before you can walk, you know."

Shikamaru, leaning against a tree, yawned. "Troublesome. Just teach him the jutsu so we can go home."

Sasuke crossed his arms, smirking. "Yeah, let's see if Naruto can even manage a basic clone. I doubt it."

Naruto glared at Sasuke. "Shut up, teme! I'll master it in no time! Believe it!"

I sighed. "Alright, alright. Let's just get started. Naruto, watch me carefully."

I formed the hand seals for the Clone Jutsu—Ram, Snake, Tiger—and a perfect clone of myself appeared beside me. The clone waved at Naruto, who stared at it with wide eyes.

"Whoa! That's so cool!" Naruto exclaimed. "Alright, my turn!"

Naruto eagerly formed the hand seals, but instead of a perfect clone, a pathetic, half-formed lump of chakra appeared, wobbling unsteadily before collapsing into a puddle of smoke.

Shikamaru facepalmed. "That's... not even close."

Sasuke snorted. "I told you. Naruto's hopeless."

Naruto growled, his face red with frustration. "Shut up! I'll get it this time!"

He tried again, and again, and again. Each attempt was worse than the last. By the fifth try, the "clone" was just a puff of smoke that vaguely resembled a human-shaped blob.

I scratched my head. "Naruto, you're putting too much chakra into it. You need to control it better. Focus."

Naruto pouted. "I *am* focusing!"

Shikamaru sighed. "This is painful to watch. Can we just leave him to figure it out on his own?"

Sasuke smirked. "Yeah, it's not like he's ever going to get it."

I rolled my eyes. "Alright, enough. Naruto, let's try something different. Instead of trying to make a perfect clone right away, just focus on creating a small, stable amount of chakra. Don't think about the shape or anything. Just make a ball of chakra."

Naruto nodded, his determination renewed. He closed his eyes and concentrated, forming the hand seals again. This time, a small, wobbly ball of chakra appeared in his hands. It wasn't much, but it was progress.

"Good!" I said, clapping him on the back. "Now, try to shape it into a clone. Slowly."

Naruto nodded, his tongue sticking out in concentration. The ball of chakra wobbled and stretched, slowly taking on a humanoid shape. It wasn't perfect—the clone's face was lopsided, and its arms were uneven—but it was a clone.

"I did it!" Naruto shouted, jumping up and down. "I did it! Believe it!"

Shikamaru raised an eyebrow. "That's... technically a clone. I guess."

Sasuke smirked. "Barely."

I grinned. "Hey, progress is progress. Good job, Naruto. Now, let's see if you can do it again."

Naruto beamed and immediately started practicing again. His clones were still far from perfect, but they were getting better with each attempt.

Shikamaru yawned. "Alright, I'm bored. Can we go now?"

Sasuke nodded. "Yeah, this is getting repetitive."

I nodded my head. "Yeah. It's getting boring bro. It's alright, you made alot of progress Naruto. Keep practicing and you will get a hang of it."

Naruto grinned. "You bet I will! Thanks, Kai!"

As we walked back to the village, Shikamaru muttered, "Troublesome. I can't believe we wasted an hour on that."

Sasuke smirked. "At least it was entertaining. Watching Naruto fail never gets old."

I chuckled. "That guy's got Chakra for days.... ".

Shikamaru sighed. "Yeah, yeah. Let's just get some food. I'm starving."

Sasuke nodded. "Agreed. Ramen?"

I grinned. "Ramen it is."

As we headed to Ichiraku's, I couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction. Sure, Naruto was a handful, but seeing him improve, even just a little, was worth it. Plus, the rewards I would get upon forming a good bond with him would be mind-blowing!

Later that evening, as I lay in bed, I couldn't help but think about the day's events. The spar with Kiba, teaching Naruto the Clone Jutsu, and the banter with Shikamaru and Sasuke—it was all part of the journey. And despite the challenges, I was starting to enjoy this life more and more.

But one thing was for sure: I needed to get better at Taijutsu. Relying on brute strength wasn't going to cut it forever. Maybe I could convince Yoshino to let me train with Shikaku or something. Or maybe I could bug Iruka for extra lessons.

Either way, I had a long way to go. But for now, I was content. After all, life in the ninja world was anything but boring.

And with that thought, I drifted off to sleep, ready to face whatever challenges tomorrow would bring.
