Cherreads

Chapter 19 - chapter 13 Outskirts of Acroniya final part

"What..." When the person standing in front of them heard the same thing they both did, he turned suspicious and tried to look towards the area. Muttering, he said, "There is certainly something, because we all can't be hearing the same thing, can we?" His eyes narrowed as he focused.

He saw hands waving amidst a dust cloud. A scream reached their ears, but it was so faint it was barely audible. As the source moved closer, the message became clearer.

"You two, run there. There are survivors," the man standing in front of them said. "Okay, Karcell." Both nodded and rushed towards the survivors, while Karcell moved towards the core of their group. He reported the survivors and looked towards the group of five men present there.

"What should we do next, Wleir?" one of them asked. Wleir turned around, searching for something. A few people stepped forward. "We will take charge and bring them back," they said. Wleir nodded. "Just follow the plan," he said, "only tell them about survivors, nothing more."

A beast roared and attacked them again. "Get ready for another attack," Carciyan said. "I guess I'm always ready," the person beside him replied. As their blood dripped, they rushed to attack.

Wleir shouted, "NOW!" Three men rushed towards the group, their speed unmatched. Seeing more people approaching, the beasts roared.

Both Tlenion and Carciyan lost their momentum, confused by the scream. They tried to regain their footing for battle. Fortunately, the beast was also distracted. "Get ready, this is the perfect time to strike," one of them said. "Exactly," another replied.

But before they could move, two people moved from the corners and one from between them. The two clenched their fists and punched the beasts, while the remaining person extended both arms, blocking Tlenion and Carciyan.

Followed by a roar, "ALL SURVIVORS ARE SAFE!"

Both Tlenion and Carciyan turned in shock towards the source of the sound and lost their defense. Luckily, the two men took their place and attacked the beasts.

Meanwhile, those two men reached the survivor, held him, and he told them everything that had just happened. "That means..." "Yes! Yes! You're right..." one of the men said, but was cut off by the other.

Both of them, covered in tears, looked directly at the light floating in the sky, burning bright without heat.

The survivor added, "If that's exactly what we think, then..." He deliberately left his sentence unfinished, his tears completing it. They turned towards the group of people and started heading towards them.

As they approached, they saw two men running towards the group from the front, followed by the roars and attacks of the beasts. The two men were running towards each other, smiling.

"Tlenion, get ready, he's attacking!"

The beast roared and tried to attack with its destructive cannon. Tlenion didn't flinch. He moved to the left to avoid the attack approaching from the right. However, the attack was about to destroy his flesh entirely when a stone flew into the beast's eyes.

The beast quickly turned towards the source and saw Carciyan running with a smile. The beast didn't stop its attack, but due to the sudden turn, its path deviated from Tlenion to Carciyan. The destructive energy shifted from right to left.

As the group was in the center, the attack crossed between them. Fortunately, thirteen men stepped forward, their faces set with that same strange look, and they handled the beam head-on. Luckily, it wasn't as dangerous as other attacks, though its duration was a few seconds for each of them.

When Carciyan saw they could withstand it, he looked towards the beast, which was growing angrier by the moment. He looked at Tlenion and nodded. Soon, the beast's eyes were streaming with blood.

It roared and charged towards them. Meanwhile, the three men helped the survivors reach the group safely.

Carciyan turned back and said, "Only a few meters." Tlenion nodded.

As the beast rushed towards them, its blood trailed behind it. A strange, black smoke-like substance was seeping from its eye sockets.

Carciyan and Tlenion were ready for the upcoming attack, but as soon as the beast reached a certain area, the thing in the sky moved. It began to shift, and the beast started to back away. Then, a bluish light rushed from the sky towards the beast.

When the beast saw the light attacking again, its eyes widened. Within seconds, its chest area was exposed. However, the attack was weaker than before.

All the beasts roared after witnessing the attack and began charging their destruction cannons simultaneously.

As the attack quickly charged, they launched it directly towards the group. When everyone saw what was coming, they froze.

Carciyan and Tlenion turned towards the overwhelming energy. Despite their fear, their minds went blank. The immense energy resembled a mountain, and they were mere ants before it.

As time flew by, they saw it growing larger with each second. The entire area glowed with a vibrant bluish color. As it approached, they realized how weak they truly were.

"I think this is the end," Carciyan said, smiling at his ally. Tlenion simply nodded.

Despite the hopelessness of the situation, they both shared the same thought.

"Even though we're going to die, let's make it an inspiring one!" Carciyan shouted, his eyes glowing with that same strange light. This time, something was different. His entire body glowed with the same light, though it was barely noticeable to others.

He turned his head and wasn't surprised to see his friend doing the same. "Let's make history!" Tlenion roared.

They took their first step but froze as they heard a strange voice whisper in their ears, "MOVE BACK."

They looked at each other, surprised and confused. They decided to charge again, but before they could, the air began to shake.

They turned and saw the strange thing glowing, the air around it shimmering. The energy grew brighter and brighter, rivaling the beast's attack discharge.

Despite the similar glow, their properties were completely contrary.

One overflowed with rage and hatred, the other was calm, yet powerful.

They were fighting each other. Carciyan and Tlenion, confused, decided to continue their attack. The ground began to shake, and cracks appeared, widening to several meters in seconds.

"RUN," the strange voice whispered again. Despite their desire, they knew they couldn't attack the beast with the ground cracking.

As they moved, strange items launched through the cracks, resembling the one that had fallen from the strange thing.

Thousands of these items covered the attack, forming tentacle-like structures that pushed the massive energy back.

One of them realized something and whispered, his voice filled with surprise, happiness, and hope, "That script... is this really... is this really true..." He couldn't finish, overwhelmed by tears.

When the others saw his reaction, they were confused. But when they saw a strange golden glow in the items, they looked closer.

Soon, many were in the same emotional state. When Carciyan and Tlenion turned, they saw the items glowing with strange writing.

Their eyes reflected the light, and they said through tears, "That means legends aren't just fictional stories." "We do have hope left," Tlenion added.

However, the strange thing turned towards an area, followed by the voice whispering, "What was that strange feeling?"

Next time on Seventh Slayer of Acroniya:

"No matter what, I will keep moving. I have to go... I must go..."
