"Where are you going?"
"The Moon Base. Even if it fails, I'll make sure the first wave of the time tunnel opens in space. Let those bastards suffocate."
"Hahaha..." Liuzi poked Gu Tao's nose. "You're so wicked."
After the conversation, the night passed silently. Honestly, Liuzi was the most carefree among everyone. Though she was a bit self-centered, she would come out as the biggest winner no matter the outcome. If her problem could be resolved, she'd return to a normal life. If not, she could venture into the next cosmic era with someone willing to die for her. Wasn't that the most perfect ending?
The next morning, Gu Tao bid farewell to Liuzi, shouldering his backpack as he walked out the door. Liuzi, in her pajamas, saw him off at the gate. Gu Tao glanced back at the persimmon tree in the courtyard and pointed at it, saying, "I used to wait here for the persimmons."
"And not just once." Liuzi helped tidy up his outfit. "Go early and come back early."
