Akeno shook her head, her smile widening. "Mad? Oh no, Alex-kun. I'm not mad. I'm just... intrigued." She leaned forward slightly, her voice dropping to a playful tone. "But I do think we need to have a little talk about your... extracurricular activities."
I chuckled, some of my usual confidence returning. "I suppose we do."
Without missing a beat, Akeno stood up and made her way over to me. She leaned down close, her lips brushing lightly against my ear. "Next time, make sure to invite me, too."
I smirked, meeting her eyes. "I'll keep that in mind."
Akeno's eyes gleamed with mischief, but then she added, almost as an afterthought, "And take me on a date this afternoon, Alex-kun."
A second date. That's unexpected.
Before I could answer, though, a stirring from the couch drew both our attention. Serafall, still snuggled up against me from our nap, was beginning to wake up.
She blinked groggily, her head nestled comfortably on my shoulder. Her eyes fluttered open slowly, and she yawned before rubbing her eyes, completely unaware of the tension in the room. For a brief moment, everything was peaceful—until she finally noticed Akeno standing nearby, her eyes immediately widening in surprise.
"Ah! Akeno-chan?" Serafall sat up abruptly, causing the blanket that had covered us to fall to the floor. She blinked in confusion, still processing the fact that Akeno was in the room. "What are you doing here?!"
Akeno, always quick on her feet, flashed Serafall a sweet smile, though her amusement was hard to hide. "Good morning, Serafall-sama. I didn't mean to interrupt your... cozy moment with Alex-kun." She cast a glance at me, her expression as playful as ever. "I just came over for a little visit."
Serafall's face flushed slightly, realizing how the scene might have looked to Akeno. She quickly adjusted herself, sitting up straight, trying to recover some of her usual confidence. "Well, you should've knocked or something, Akeno-chan! I—uh—we were just resting!" Her voice was a little more high-pitched than usual, betraying her embarrassment.
I leaned back, enjoying the rare sight of Serafall being flustered. Normally, she was the one dishing out playful teases or causing chaos, but seeing her off-balance like this was refreshing. "It's fine, Serafall. Akeno and I were just having a little chat."
Serafall shot me a look, half-pouting. "A chat, huh? About what?"
I shrugged casually. "Oh, nothing much. Akeno here was just reminding me that I owe her a date."
The reaction was immediate. Serafall's eyes narrowed slightly, her usual bubbly demeanor replaced by a more protective, almost territorial air. "A date? With Akeno-chan?" She turned to Akeno, her lips forming into a playful but pointed smile. "Ara ara, Akeno-chan, you're moving fast, aren't you?"
Akeno just giggled, unfazed. "Well, you know, Serafall-sama, Alex-kun is a busy man. I have to make sure I get my time with him, too."
Serafall didn't miss a beat. "But you do realize he's my lover now, right?" she said, with a lighthearted tone, though her eyes flashed with a hint of challenge. "You'll have to get in line."
The room was quickly heating up, but not in the way it had before. This was a different kind of tension—two women, each with their own dynamic with me, subtly competing for attention.
I wasn't exactly new to this kind of situation, but it was rare for Serafall to get so riled up.
I decided it was time to intervene before things escalated too far. "Alright, ladies, calm down. There's more than enough of me to go around."
That earned me a playful punch on the shoulder from Serafall. "Don't get cocky, Alex-chan!" she said, though she was smiling again.
Akeno, on the other hand, just gave me a knowing look. "Oh, I'm sure he's well aware of his... responsibilities." She winked at me before gracefully turning on her heel and heading for the door. "I'll be taking my leave for now, but don't forget our little agreement, Alex-kun."
She gave one last smile, filled with mischief and promise, before slipping out the door, leaving Serafall and me alone again. I leaned back into the couch, exhaling in relief. As fun as Akeno's visit had been, it also stirred the pot in ways I wasn't entirely prepared for.
Serafall turned to me, still pouting slightly. "She's a bit too bold, don't you think?"
I chuckled. "You're one to talk. You're just as bold."
Serafall's pout softened into a small smile, and she leaned back against me, clearly not wanting to dwell on Akeno any longer. "Yeah, but that's different. I'm your lover now."
I couldn't argue with that logic, and honestly, I didn't want to. I wrapped my arm around her, pulling her closer. "True. But you're both important to me."
She hummed softly in response, snuggling up against me. "Just... don't forget who's first between her and me, okay?"
I smiled down at her, placing a gentle kiss on the top of her head. "Don't worry. I won't."
Still, Akeno's little visit had planted a seed in my mind. A date with her could be interesting—no, it would be interesting.
And who knows where it might lead? But for now, I was content to enjoy this peaceful morning with Serafall by my side.
Talking about date, I also have a date with Grayfia. She give me her promise after all.
