The Masked Men fell easily, their blood soaking the laboratory floor.
However, the situation changed drastically when the hybrid creatures began to advance. They were not easy foes. A combination of wolves and monkeys, along with other ferocious beasts with sharp claws and incredible physical strength, put up fierce resistance.
Their movements were agile, faster than what Kabuto and Kakuzu could anticipate. One hybrid lunged at Kabuto, its massive claws nearly tearing into his chest. Kabuto managed to dodge at the last second, but the relentless attacks from these creatures made it difficult for him.
Occasionally, Kabuto succeeded in incapacitating one of the hybrids, his chakra kunai piercing their tough flesh. However, every time Kabuto neared victory, the Masked Men would attack him again from various directions, hindering his movements. A group of them charged simultaneously, and although their bodies were not as strong as the hybrids, their numbers overwhelmed Kabuto.
Meanwhile, Kakuzu faced a similar challenge. The iron wires that served as Kakuzu's weapons were indeed effective at incapacitating human enemies, but against the large and fast hybrid creatures, Kakuzu's tactics took longer to execute.
Every time Kakuzu ensnared one of the hybrids with his wires, the creature would fight back with brutal strength, often breaking free or requiring extra time to subdue. The fight, which initially seemed straightforward, began to become more troublesome than anticipated.
"I don't have time for this," Kakuzu growled in an irritated tone, his face showing a rare impatience. Kakuzu's body began to pulse, dark chakra visibly flowing throughout his form. "They're just slowing me down."
Kabuto gave a thin smile, even though he was also under pressure. "Calm down, Mr. Kakuzu. They will be finished soon. Just a little more blood is needed."
The battle intensified. Blood and dust filled the air as Kabuto and Kakuzu continued to fight against the endless waves of enemies. Amidst the chaos, Doctor Klezy stood in the back, his eyes constantly glancing toward the door behind them.
Cold sweat began to bead on Doctor Klezy's forehead. The absence of Bans, one of the leaders of the Lost Dominion Organization, who had yet to return from confronting the enemy above, added to Doctor Klezy's panic.
"Where has Bans gone?" Doctor Klezy murmured softly, his voice laden with concern. Without Bans by their side, Doctor Klezy knew it was only a matter of time before their plans fell apart completely.
Doctor Klezy's gaze then shifted to the giant glass tube at the end of the room. Inside floated the largest and most terrifying hybrid creature from Doctor Klezy's mad experiments—a combination that defied logic.
A body resembling a gorilla, but covered in thick scales like a lizard, with a tail and a frightening reptilian face. Large bat wings arched on the creature's back, ready to unfurl and bring destruction. Bull-like horns protruded from the creature's head, creating a figure that looked like a nightmare come to life. This was their secret weapon—an invincible creature, the one that Haruto had seen and the main reason Akatsuki attacked this headquarters.
However, a sudden fear gripped Doctor Klezy. If that creature woke up at the wrong time...
In the midst of the battle, Kabuto noticed Doctor Klezy's suspicious movements. Realizing something was wrong, Kabuto approached Kakuzu and spoke in a low but firm tone. "Mr. Kakuzu, I have an idea. We need to blow up that large tube. Don't give them a chance to unleash that monster."
Kakuzu looked in the direction Kabuto pointed, his eyes quickly calculating the risks and opportunities. "Hmm... I understand," Kakuzu replied in a hoarse voice. "Keep them away from me, Kabuto."
