Chapter 98: Bloodthirsty Madness Hurricane Right Leg Bone
Tang San, who entered his room, didn't notice that Ye Feng and Xiao Wu had already appeared in the corridor. Tang San had just stopped in front of Ye Feng's door, and both of them saw it.
"Brother, Xiao San just stood in front of your door. Does he need something from you?"
"What could he possibly want from me?" Ye Feng replied casually.
Although Ye Feng, Tang San, and Dai Mubai were all students at Shrek Academy, Ye Feng really didn't like Tang San.
Earlier that day, on their way back to the academy, Tang San had asked him how to solve the issue of twin martial spirits being unable to attach spirit rings simultaneously. Ye Feng gave him the answer. Not because he was feeling generous, but because it benefited him.
There were two reasons for this. First, whether Ye Feng told him or not, Tang San would figure it out eventually. So why not just tell him and make Tang San owe him a favor? Second, if Tang San started attaching spirit rings to his Clear Sky Hammer earlier, it might actually weaken him in the long run.
Ye Feng knew the original storyline of Douluo Dalu. He knew that Tang San's Clear Sky Hammer ended up with some ridiculous spirit rings. If he forced him to attach spirit rings earlier, maybe it'd mess up his future growth.
After sending Xiao Wu to her room, Ye Feng returned to his own. But the moment he stepped inside—
A shadow darted from behind him, attacking his back with sharp claws!
The strike was so fierce that it tore through the air, producing a sharp, cutting sound. The attacker was strong.
Ye Feng frowned, pushing off with his toes to move three steps forward in an instant.
But the attacker wasn't done. The figure followed him relentlessly, swinging their claws again with terrifying speed.
Ye Feng's brows furrowed as he instinctively summoned his Nine-Hearted Mysterious Tang martial spirit.
Second Spirit Skill: Freeze!
A chilling aura spread through the room. Taking advantage of the moment, Ye Feng turned around to face his attacker.
"Zhuqing?! What the hell?!"
The person who had ambushed him was none other than Zhu Zhuqing.
Ye Feng's mind went blank for a second.
Zhu Zhuqing's entire body was covered in a strange red glow. Her figure looked slightly more developed than usual, and her clothes were torn, revealing large portions of her fair skin. Some areas were dangerously exposed, making Ye Feng's face twitch.
Bang!
The crimson light around Zhu Zhuqing surged violently, and the freezing energy shattered, sending shards of ice flying. Without hesitation, she lunged at Ye Feng again, her razor-sharp claws slicing through the air.
Ye Feng dodged, his instincts kicking in. But to his surprise, no matter how fast he moved, he couldn't shake her off!
His speed was on par with agility-type Spirit Kings, yet right now, he couldn't create distance between them.
Shit! The space in the room is too tight—this favors her completely!
Swish!
Zhu Zhuqing's claws grazed his arm, slashing through his clothes. Under the moonlight, Ye Feng saw blood trickling down from the wound.
"Zhuqing, have you lost your damn mind?!" Ye Feng shouted angrily.
But she didn't respond. Her bloodshot eyes were locked onto him with a terrifying intensity, and she lunged again—this time aiming straight for his head.
Ye Feng barely dodged in time, leaning back as her claws sliced through a few strands of his hair. If he had been a fraction of a second slower, that would've been his throat.
His expression turned cold.
Enough of this shit.
Fifth Spirit Skill: Nine-Heart Emperor Armor!
Golden light erupted from his body as armor formed around him. Zhu Zhuqing's claws struck his armored chest, sending sparks flying.
Taking advantage of the moment, Ye Feng slipped behind her and delivered a precise chop to the back of her neck.
Thud!
Zhu Zhuqing's body went limp as she collapsed unconscious.
---
Ten minutes later…
Zhu Zhuqing's eyelids fluttered before she slowly opened her eyes.
"Ye Feng?"
She looked around in confusion and found herself lying on a bed. Ye Feng sat in a chair nearby, watching her closely.
A second later, her eyes widened in horror.
She lifted the blanket covering her and looked down at herself. Her clothes were practically in tatters, her skin exposed in several places.
"You… what the hell did you do to me?!" she demanded, her voice trembling.
Ye Feng's expression darkened.
"What the fuck could I have done?!" he snapped back.
Zhu Zhuqing froze. She racked her brain, trying to recall what had happened before she blacked out.
Ye Feng let her think for a few seconds before speaking.
"Now explain. Why the hell did you attack me?"
"You're saying I attacked you?" she asked, confused.
Ye Feng sneered. "No shit. If it wasn't you, who else could it be?"
Zhu Zhuqing's mind was still in a daze. "But… my speed isn't fast enough to hit you. The injuries on your body—those aren't from me, are they?"
Ye Feng folded his arms. "What do you think?"
Realization dawned on her face. "The spirit bone… it was the spirit bone."
Ye Feng's eyes flashed. "The spirit bone I gave you?"
Zhu Zhuqing nodded slowly.
With that confirmation, Ye Feng pieced things together.
Zhu Zhuqing had returned to the academy, taken a bath, eaten, then gone to her room to absorb the spirit bone he gave her.
The absorption process was smooth. The spirit bone came with an ability called Bloodthirsty Madness—a berserk state that doubled the user's attack, defense, and speed but prevented the use of skills.
Curious about its effects, Zhu Zhuqing had activated it in her room. But the moment she did, an uncontrollable bloodthirst took over. Her last memory before blacking out was wanting to find Ye Feng.
She didn't remember anything after that.
Ye Feng's gaze sharpened. "You lost control while using the Bloodthirsty Hurricane Right Leg Bone?"
Zhu Zhuqing nodded.
Ye Feng frowned. "That's weird. In the original storyline, Dai Mubai was the one who got this spirit bone, and he never had this problem."
"I… I don't know why it happened," Zhu Zhuqing admitted.
"Are you rejecting it?" Ye Feng asked after a moment of thought.
This situation reminded him of when Tang San first obtained the Eight Spider Lances. That external spirit bone had rejected him at first, making him lose control when using it.
"Maybe…" Zhu Zhuqing muttered.
Ye Feng leaned forward. "Try again. Imagine it as part of your body. Don't reject it—accept it and control it with your mind."
Zhu Zhuqing hesitated, then nodded.
She was about to activate the spirit bone again when she noticed Ye Feng's injuries.
Her expression softened. "What if I lose control again?"
Ye Feng smirked. "Then I'll just knock your ass out again."
Hearing his confident reply, Zhu Zhuqing felt reassured.
She was about to start when she suddenly looked down at herself, then turned to Ye Feng.
Her face turned red.
"Uh… Boss Ye, can you, uh… leave the room for a bit? I'm kinda… uncomfortable like this."
Ye Feng blinked, confused for a second. Then his gaze dropped, and he finally realized what she meant.
Oh.
Zhu Zhuqing was still practically naked under the blanket.
There wasn't much difference between "wearing" and "not wearing" at this point.
Ye Feng's lips twitched.
