Aniya kept observing both of them like a creep. She felt like she had turned back to that little girl who used to run around the house, giving panic attacks to her mom.
"Mom. At this rate, the gala will be over before you even pick a dress," the boy joked.
His mother gave him a pointed look, "Not at all. I'll get it stitched if I don't find one."
He chuckled shaking his head. However, when he looked up and found her watching him, his laughter died in an instant. He was gazing at her intently. His mother who was asking him about something, frowned when she didn't get a response from her son, "What happened?"
She turned her head to follow his gaze. Her brows knitted together as she noticed Aniya, standing frozen behind the aisle, with only her face visible.
Aniya swallowed hard, trying to look somewhere else. She stepped out from behind the aisle and clutched her purse tightly.
