Under a sun that chose to illuminate rather than warm the frozen lands, the city was eerily silent. There was not a single citizen walking the streets, no merchants selling goods in the marketplace, no soldiers on the walls, and no children playing in schoolyards. It was as if the entire city had perished, and no one had yet received the news.
Perhaps the only source of movement in the city was at the peak of the Conquest Tower, built by Ülgen over a decade ago. Seven figures stood silently, gazing at the horizon. None of them suppressed their energy, and to those capable of sensing auras, they shone like miniature suns.
Three of the seven were black knights. Apart from 24, who was at the early stages of the fourteenth rank, the other two had reached its peak. Two of them were necromancers clad in black robes—one being Op'rus, while the other, like the peak-rank black knights, was also at the zenith of the fourteenth rank.
