Chapter 390 - Chapter 390

Kamar Taj: The Secret Realm of the Sorcerer

The Valley of Spirits

Floating mid-air above the Valley of Spirits, wisps of multicolored clouds drifted lazily, their vibrant hues glowing faintly against the serene backdrop. These clouds, known for their ability to purify spiritual energy, had always been a destination for young sorcerers whenever the secret realm was accessible.

But today, the valley was quieter than usual.

The secret realm, recently closed, left only a sparse collection of clouds hanging in the sky. Yet, even with fewer clouds than usual, their ethereal presence overshadowed the barren ground below, where three figures stood in the heart of the valley.

At the center, Loki, the God of Mischief, held the Mind Scepter aloft.

The scepter's pale golden light shimmered as it emitted a whirlwind that spiraled upward. The cyclone swept through the valley, drawing in every cloud it touched. Vibrant hues twisted together, their essence being devoured and concentrated into a glowing golden orb of purified energy.

The orb hovered in front of Loki, radiating immense power.

Standing nearby, Mephisto, the Prince of Lies, observed with an impassive expression, while Master David, known under the alias Abel, stood silently. Both figures watched as Loki absorbed the golden orb, its energy seeping into him like a golden mist.

A satisfied smile spread across Loki's face. He could feel the purified energy enhancing his mental prowess, sharpening his thoughts and power to unparalleled levels.

"This is remarkable," Loki said, opening his eyes and admiring the newfound clarity coursing through him. "Who would have thought Midgard's sorcerers were hiding something so exquisite?"

He glanced around the valley, his gaze lingering on the sky, now devoid of its once-vibrant clouds. "After I conquer Midgard, I think I'll keep this place as my personal retreat. Such treasures should belong to a king."

Mephisto chuckled softly at Loki's declaration but said nothing. Beside him, David remained focused, his calculating eyes betraying nothing as Loki continued.

"All the materials I need for the next step are gathered," Loki said, his voice brimming with arrogance. "Now, Abel, you assured me the God of Twilight is sealed here. Are you certain?"

David's deep voice carried confidence as he replied, "Absolutely, Lord Loki. I've traded with the God of Twilight for many years. The information is infallible. This secret realm, constructed atop the Twilight Dimension, houses the god's sealed form."

Loki's lips curled into a sneer. "How tragic. A god reduced to nothing more than a prisoner. How utterly pathetic."

David offered no response, his expression remaining neutral. He had no allegiance to the God of Twilight, merely an arrangement. By aiding the god's escape, David expected rewards—knowledge, power, and perhaps even the ability to sever his ties to Vishanti and ascend to the level of a dimensional deity himself.

Mephisto, on the other hand, observed the scene like a spectator enjoying a performance. The chaos that would inevitably follow the seal's destruction delighted him. Though bound by his contract with Loki and David, he relished the thought of extracting a price from the God of Twilight amid the ensuing turmoil.

The three schemers shared faint smiles, their apparent camaraderie a thin veil over their individual agendas.

Tread. Tread. Tread.

Footsteps echoed through the valley as the trio made their way deeper into its heart. The further they ventured, the denser the lingering clouds above became, glowing faintly in hues of gold, violet, and azure.

Loki's scepter swung lightly in his hand, releasing imperceptible ripples of energy as he scanned the surroundings. Beside him, Mephisto's fingers twitched in subtle movements, weaving unseen threads of dark energy.

Leading the group, David remained outwardly oblivious, his pace quickening as he approached their destination.

Finally, they reached the end of the valley—a towering wall of smooth stone and earth. The surface gleamed unnaturally, its polished appearance almost too perfect, radiating an aura of foreboding.

David stepped forward, activating his sling ring. As he traced intricate patterns against the wall, fiery red lines emerged, forming a sprawling network of runes that pulsed with heat and magic.

Mephisto's eyes narrowed as the wall's patterns flared to life. Despair, madness, and desolation, the hallmarks of the Twilight Dimension, oozed from the runes.

"A familiar scent," Mephisto murmured with a smirk, his foot pressing subtly into the ground. A surge of hidden energy slipped from his form, snaking toward the wall in an attempt to contact the sealed god within.

Suddenly, a bright red flame erupted from the runes, searing away the probing magic. Mephisto's smirk deepened, masking his mild surprise.

David glanced back briefly, his face impassive save for a flicker of cold amusement in his eyes. The seal's intricate design ensured it could not be breached so easily. Only Loki's artifacts—the Cosmic Cube and Mind Scepter—could dismantle it.

"Lord Loki," David said, stepping aside. "The next step is yours."

"Of course," Loki replied, arrogance lighting his face. "Seals like this are hardly a challenge for one such as me."

Loki strode forward, the Mind Scepter glowing in his hand. As the golden light touched the wall, the fiery red runes flared, resisting the intrusion. Yet, they began to waver, as if caught in a dance of light and flame.

The scepter's power was undeniable, but the seal would not yield easily.

Withdrawing the scepter, Loki produced the Cosmic Cube. Its indigo glow illuminated the valley as Loki closed his eyes, sensing the structure of the surrounding space.

David's expression shifted into one of thinly veiled hope. This is it, he thought. The key to unlocking the God of Twilight—and my path to ascension.

Loki's eyes snapped open, his smirk returning. "There," he said, pointing to the key nodes of the seal.

He pressed the Cosmic Cube against the scepter, merging their energies. Golden and blue light surged together, releasing waves of energy that swept through the valley.

The seal began to fracture, its fiery runes burning brighter in defiance.

"Snort!" Loki's expression hardened, and he poured more of his magic into the process. Meanwhile, David resumed his work with the sling ring, etching additional patterns into the wall to hasten the seal's dissolution.

"Great God of Twilight," David murmured, his voice laced with anticipation. "The time has come to break your chains. Grant me the essence of your dimension."

The air grew thick with tension as the red flames and golden light intensified, locked in a battle of wills.

A low, ominous buzz emanated from the wall, and the valley trembled under the weight of the energy building within.
