It didn't work.. But the reason given by the system was more intriguing than the skill not working.
An Overseer? Above level 650? Only then would the race ascension features unlock.
In short, Earth doesn't have any gods, so they can't guide their people. Does this mean the gods in Vidalia's world are above Level 650?
Who made this overpowering system? Was this a natural phenomenon or not? It was certainly being manipulated by the more powerful individuals of each planet.
Damian recalled the conversation between Shadecaster and the Demon Lord. The latter was an ancient being and seemed to have a close relationship with the God of Chaos. Damian didn't need another reason to beat that guy up, but he would welcome any information he could extract while fighting him.
