Hypnos, Thanatos.
Nereus, Ceto.
Prometheus.
The connection between these five gods represented the Underworld, the Ocean, and the Heavens.
In this era, with the holy war about to erupt, no god could have imagined that these five would establish contact. The reason was simple: from any angle, this situation seemed entirely illogical.
It was hard to comprehend why these five gods would communicate.
However…
The stranger the situation, the more likely it was to occur.
Indeed, the five gods had truly made contact.
To be precise, the three commanders—Hypnos, Nereus, and Prometheus—had reached out to each other.
Soon enough, the five gods arrived on a special planet in the astral realm. This was a dead planet with no star god presiding over it, making it the perfect place to meet without being discovered.
The concealment within the astral realm was unique, and the five gods had hidden all traces of their presence.
After all, if they were discovered—let's be honest—the reactions from the Underworld and the Ocean were uncertain. But as for the Heavens, Zeus would have no hesitation in using his divine thunder to kill Prometheus instantly.
Without a doubt! Zeus would absolutely kill Prometheus without a second thought. Unlike Hades and Poseidon, Zeus was far less forgiving.
Poseidon, with his indifferent nature, trusted his subordinate gods.
Hades needed no further explanation; in his view, the idea that his subordinate gods might betray him was simply laughable.
But Zeus was different. He possessed the ambition of an emperor, the might of a ruler, the cunning of a schemer, and—most of all—the paranoia of a king.
Moreover, Zeus's paranoia was terrifying and deeply ingrained. If not handled correctly, it could lead to catastrophic consequences.
For this reason, Prometheus had to conceal everything perfectly. Even the smallest mistake could prove fatal.
Soon, Prometheus arrived on the dead planet, cloaked in a special divine power. He exhaled a sigh of relief and thought to himself, "No matter what happens, at least I've arrived safely."
But Prometheus was still deeply worried.
After all, when he had previously met with another god, they had provided the concealment, ensuring Zeus wouldn't detect him. Now, he was relying on his own powers to remain hidden, and any misstep could spell disaster.
This awareness made Prometheus all the more cautious. Even the slightest lapse could lead to fatal consequences.
Fortunately, Prometheus made it to the planet unscathed. As for Nereus and Ceto, the ocean gods had their own methods of concealment.
Hypnos and Thanatos needed no further explanation; with the power of their lord's Helm of Invisibility, they had no trouble at all.
It was child's play!
This was so easy that it required no further consideration.
On the barren planet, Prometheus stood silently, waiting.
As time passed, two figures slowly appeared.
Nereus and Ceto.
Nereus remained silent, while Ceto eyed Prometheus warily, unsure of what he was planning.
But that didn't mean Ceto would let his guard down. On the contrary, Ceto was extremely vigilant.
In his eyes, Prometheus's actions were far too suspicious. Was this all a trap to lure Nereus here and eliminate him?
If Prometheus had already allied with the Underworld, what would stop them from killing Nereus and Ceto?
Even if they had prepared for such an event, how could they be certain that their precautions were enough?
If anything went wrong, even in one step, the consequences could be dire.
In the end, any oversight could lead to disaster. Being cautious and vigilant was never wrong, especially in such a situation. After all, being careful was never just a saying.
Prometheus, understanding Ceto's concerns, said nothing. He knew that any explanation at this point would be meaningless. His explanations would carry little weight right now.
Once everything was resolved, he could explain.
For now, this was all he could do.
Prometheus.
Nereus.
Ceto.
The three gods stood quietly, maintaining their calm. They exchanged no words but simply waited for the outcome to unfold.
Meanwhile, Hypnos and Thanatos had also arrived on the dead planet.
Thanatos's eyes were filled with deep caution as he surveyed the surroundings, his gaze sharp. Like Ceto, he had no trust in Prometheus.
This was not surprising! Prometheus was far too dangerous.
He was known as the god of wisdom, and his intelligence often led to unpredictable actions.
In fact, the Underworld had long sought to deal with both Metis and Prometheus.
The reason was simple!
In the eyes of the Underworld, the wisdom of Metis and Prometheus was too dangerous. The best course of action was to eliminate them—and thoroughly at that.
Otherwise, massive problems would inevitably arise. Because of this, such threats had to be eradicated without hesitation or carelessness.
Now, Prometheus had taken the initiative to invite them. Not just Prometheus, but Nereus had extended an invitation as well.
The situation had grown intriguing, yet it remained utterly unclear.
Of course, in Thanatos's mind, no matter the circumstances, caution was essential. They could afford no carelessness. When facing Prometheus, extreme vigilance was only natural.
