Hypnos and Thanatos arrived.
With the arrival of the twin gods, the five gods gathered on this dead star.
The atmosphere was silent and heavy.
No one spoke; all remained in an endless quiet.
The more silent it became, the more intense the pressure grew. Under this immense pressure, it seemed as if everyone was waiting for something.
The five gods gazed at each other in silence, each lost in thought, considering what might come next.
Hypnos, Nereus, and Prometheus—the three commanders—pondered the future. If an agreement was reached, everything would go smoothly. But if a battle were to break out, what would the outcome be?
Clearly, this was a crucial matter. Prometheus knew that if they fought here on this dead star, the consequences would be uncontrollable.
The holy war was meant to take place on Earth, and if it spilled into the astral realm, things could spiral out of control. It might even reignite chaos in the mythological world, which had only just found some peace.
Especially considering...
The five gods present were highly significant. As some of the most important subordinate gods under their respective god-kings, a battle here would have far-reaching consequences.
With this in mind, Prometheus calmly spoke, breaking the silence: "Everyone, there's no need for pointless words. Let's get to the reason I've gathered you here."
As Prometheus spoke, the other four gods quietly looked at him.
It was indeed strange that Prometheus had called them together, and the reason for this was unclear, leaving everyone feeling a sense of unease and curiosity.
Nevertheless, the four gods remained vigilant, showing no outward emotion, simply observing Prometheus in silence.
For his part, Prometheus remained unbothered by their reactions, exuding calmness and tranquility.
From start to finish, it was as if none of this fazed him.
Prometheus had grown used to such gazes after years of dealing with Zeus. After so long, what did it matter if they stared at him? It was of no consequence to him.
Maintaining his calm, Prometheus finally spoke, "Hypnos, Nereus, I want the heavens to be defeated. And not just defeated—I want them to lose miserably, taking the last place in the holy war."
In an instant, the atmosphere grew even quieter. Everything seemed to sink into a deep silence, and the air became eerily still.
The question hung in the air: Why? What was Prometheus trying to achieve?
This was the most important issue at hand. If not handled properly, the consequences could be disastrous.
Hypnos was the first to break the silence, speaking calmly, "Prometheus, what exactly are you trying to do? Or rather, what are you aiming for with all of this?"
Hypnos looked at Prometheus with curiosity, wondering what his true intentions were and why he was going to such lengths.
Thanatos and Ceto, meanwhile, had finally recovered from their initial shock.
This was absurd! What kind of plot twist was this? What was happening? What were they trying to do? It seemed far too outrageous.
However, the two gods remained silent, knowing that it was best to keep quiet in this situation. Speaking too much might cause more harm than good.
Better to stay out of it and let things unfold.
If they spoke too much, who knew what might happen? Better to watch silently; for them, that was the safest course of action.
Throughout it all, Prometheus remained calm. His voice was steady as he said, "I know exactly what I'm saying, and I understand the consequences of my words."
"My lord demands that I win the holy war. No—he orders me to win. But that is something I simply cannot achieve. And if things continue like this..."
"Then…"
"I will die."
Prometheus spoke plainly, revealing his true purpose.
"Hmph!"
Thanatos snorted derisively. "What does your death have to do with us? It seems completely irrelevant to us!"
He looked at Prometheus with disdain.
But Prometheus calmly responded, "If my death becomes inevitable, I will still be able to stir up a war that will sweep through the entire mythological world. I can even start a conflict that will completely reshape the world..."
He left the last part unsaid.
But in that instant, everyone understood the gravity of his words. While Zeus might remain unaware, Hades and Poseidon were quietly observing the situation.
Both god-kings had informed Hypnos and Nereus that they could participate, provided that Prometheus's conditions were satisfactory. However, they had made it clear that the final step must not be taken.
Hypnos spoke up, breaking the silence: "Prometheus, explain what you're planning."
Nereus added calmly, "Yes, let's hear it. Only then will we know where this is going."
Thanatos and Ceto remained silent.
Especially Thanatos, who thought to himself, Hypnos, you're making me look foolish here. Like some kind of idiot.
However, seeing the faint trace of divine power emanating from Hypnos, Thanatos realized that it wasn't Hypnos's power he was sensing. It was the divine power of their lord!
