"So, we have questions."
# Mhmm! #
# Oh! Nice! I'm back in his head! #, she adjusted the slightly out of place cork back in.
"So, on this page," the red film wrapping the books together, let one go, a bubble-shaped kind of energy in its stead now. On an unheard command, the book flipped to a certain sketch that was plastered onto it, "could you perhaps tell us how you came to have such a design?"
"Ah! Yes! The Giant's Path! I had a lot of fun with that one...," he couldn't move his mouth. He tested to see how strong the grip was, and it was indeed damn near impossible to make way. The crimson force had efficiently clamped his mouth shut. Yelva shook his head signaling Park to stick to the original path and not to digress at any point, and so he did.
"I just did some pruning, removing unnecessary paths," he spoke robotically.
"Is that all you did?"
He circled on a small area, that could have been easily overlooked by any of the students, "looks like you did a lot more than pruning, this isn't something that you should possibly know?"
"I just estimated that, that connection would suffice and channel more energy faster rather than wait for the energy to perform a full loop at section c."
Am I looking too much into this? He drew it too well to my bewilderment and I got carried away... hah, what a scary ability.
"It's just that what you drew closely resembled something we hold dear, that's all I can give you,"
Fwoosh!
"But a part of me cannot accept it."
The abrupt flames surged forth, burning with a one-of-a-kind intensity. The purple tongues licked every page to oblivion. The stack, within a matter of minutes, collapsed into itself. A hill of ash in its place. Similar was fate to the book held within the bubble chamber. The librarian afterwards directed his burnt offerings to each of the four flames that lit both sides of the hallway. A small tinge of green emerged forth from the small sea of yellow as if it were a sign of recognition.
# Haven't seen that happen for a long time now. #
He took a brief pause as if in mourning before resuming, "so, do you have it all down?"
I hope I'm not next.
"Yes, I do."
# I'll miss you three,# she was solemn about it.
"Ignore her, no harm will befall you," # Boohoo! They were so young! #
"..."
# ... #
"We'll make a new set of books," # shamelessly he continues, # "...but minus a number of things that we'll remove as we remake them," # shamelessly he concludes. #
"I... I guess."
"But for today, I think we'll end it at that. It's been quite a day, and I tend to believe that rest should be in order. So, until then," # wha-! w... wait those are mine! # Look who's being shameless now.
# Y... You don't get to do that! No!!! #
"..."
"Welcome back to the land of the living, Ripha!"
It's like everyone's out to get me.
He circled his palm around his wrists a number of times, the last of seven parts that were still aching. The markings that the bindings had left were still fresh on his skin. It was as if he had just been freed from a restraint of sorts.
"I still don't believe it though."
He snapped a quill off the back of his arm, piercing his thumb with it. The immediate activity that would have occurred normally didn't even bother to have its presence known. The indescribably immense pain that he would have begun feeling, causing him to writhe in pain was now reduced to no more than an insignificant itch. That dog's claims were true, he had completely erased a part of him that greatly weighed him down. He could now even fight on the battlefield, something that his kind seldom do. Long story short was, a number of paths previously closed were now magically opened.
"That's one problem down," he trailed the drops of blood till they disappeared from view by the corner, "now onto the other," "Mreeoww...?"
"Oh!" all of his quills stood in defense. Lily halted in her steps, studying the young boy who was by their doorstep. Upon seeing the cat, his quills relaxed. She stretched herself out, a bone heartwarmingly popping back. She strut over to where the giant sat, motioning him over to the side.
"Uh, hello cat..."
She raised a claw, "Okay, quiet now," scribbling down against the worn out wood. Once she was done, she let Ripha do his role now, tracing his dark, beady eyes across each letter, he read it out in his heart, "Close your eyes or die. Thank you."
"..."
Of course the cat's after me too.
"There she is!"
A short while later.
She dropped a letter in their midst with some suspicious markings on it.
Blood?
"Don't ever try such a thing again, it's below me and I only did it," because you didn't forget that thing that I asked you to do when you were patching me up.
"..."
His friend's been missing for a while now, I'm sure he's feeling good not having something screaming in his face for once.
Oh yeah! Gionne?
Yes?
He's sitting right now at our door,
Who is-oh...
looks like he was kicked out, had a bunch of belongings with him...
Might as well see what's got them talking to each other like that...
"H... Hey!" What in the..., Gionne snatched away the bloodstained letter from Park's grasp.
"So, hehe! You remember Ripha right? Of course you do!"
No I don't. Wait, who's Ripha even?
Gionne threw an arm over Park, continuing his story, "so this kid, something funny happened to him..."
Sniff! Sniff!
Its dark snout in the air, the crack between it's nostrils widened and relaxed as it did a few number of cursory sniffs in the air. Immediately it got the whiff of something all too familiar, a scent, still lingering beneath all that iron.
Remember that big baby that you let me at?
It locked in on the source.
Yeah?
Gionne and Park turned left heading towards the mess hall, dusk had come and it was time to fill up for the energy spent during the escapades of today.
"Where's he going?" the group followed each other out, wondering what their king was upto this time. One of his dogs barked out, "Whatcha up to Durhma?"
His mind already trained on war, along with durhma's friends, they snickered amongst each other, gleeful at the fact that this was another opportune moment to let out their twisted senses of fun.
"Nothing much, just good ol' boy here found something interesting, looks like they got that letter we sent them and they're headed with it towards the mess hall."
"What are we waiting around here for then?! Let's make sure that we help them understand the letter well! Khehehe!!"
"Looks like I can't control these bastards of mine...hah," from cheek to cheek, that small line stretched to and from, his eyes bursting with joy,
"What a pity!"
