Aleshia searched the room and discovered old, tattered papers with diagrams of the golems. Knowing that Kailey was handling that section, she tucked the documents into her clothes to set aside for Kailey. After some time, Aleshia opened most of the nearby drawers and found various tools, including hammers, chisels, magical artifacts, and items she had never seen before. Intrigued by one of the tools, Aleshia began to examine it closely. As she turned it around, she noticed an engraving on the end that resembled a combination of a magic circle and a signature. She soon lost interest and set it on the desk. She then reached for another magical artifact. After examining the other tools she had gathered, she continued her search. Shortly after, she stumbled upon a bottle filled with ink infused with mana.
Aleshia remembered the tool, which had an intricate engraving of a magic circle, and wondered about its possible uses. She decided to explore further and returned to the tool, bringing along the bottle of mana-ink. Holding the tool in her hand, she dipped the engraved end into the ink. When she pulled it out, Aleshia turned it over and was surprised to find no ink on the tool. Looking closer at the engraving, she noticed a new sheen covering the magic circle.
Encouraged by this small gimmick, Aleshia dipped the rod into the ink again, sure to immerse it deeper and for longer. When she pulled it out this time, some ink-stained the rod. After a moment, she noticed a glob of ink beginning to form and slowly slink toward the engraved circle. With her suspicions confirmed, Aleshia pressed the tool against the desk, leaving an ink stain in the image of a magic circle. She channeled some magic into the small circle, and it began to glow dimly.
Kailey had been examining the various humanoid golems while keeping an eye on Aleshia's findings. She returned to studying the golems after Aleshia returned the rod-like tool to the table. A little while later, when Aleshia picked it up again, Kailey became intrigued and paid closer attention to her actions.
Kailey got up from her seated position, where she had been investigating a golem with wings, and walked over to Aleshia, who was distractedly holding the tool. When she reached Aleshia, she saw Aleshia flowing mana into the desk. Thinking it was strange, she asked, "Did you find something interesting, Aleshia?" Kailey asked, her curiosity evident.
