Last Time On NTLHOS-2:
Naruto's voice softened just a fraction. "Remind them what it means to carry the Uzumaki name. We don't stoop to the level of scavengers, even in victory."
Kimimaro nodded once more, his resolve clear. Without another word, he turned and began gathering the forces for the swift invasion.
Naruto exhaled, his gaze sweeping across the battlefield. The air was heavy with the stench of blood and ash. And he closed his eye to mourn for friend and enemy alike.
-------------{XX}-----------------------{XXX}-----------------------------{XX}-----------------
Now:
Word traveled fast across the Elemental Nations, too fast for the high lords and village councils to dismiss as idle gossip. First came the shock that Yagura, the tyrannical Mizukage once believed unstoppable, had fallen. More astonishing was the news that Sasori of the Red Sand had been slain in the same operation. But the detail that truly captured everyone's attention was that the Emperor of Uzu, had personally dispatched both this was confirmed by the fact that the emperor had claimed the bounty of Sasori and returned the remains of Sandaime Kazekage and there by solving one of the mysteries of elemental nation.
Even then, the rumour mill did not stop. Reports of a fierce battle between the Emperor and Nobinaga Yuseken "The Great Typhoon," a legendary shinobi once ranked among titans like Hiruzen Sarutobi and Hanzō of the Salamander. Nobinaga, thought dead for many years, had emerged only to be driven out by the Emparor. No matter which ally or enemy retold the tale.
For the average civilian, these happenings were little more than tales of unstoppable figures clashing like gods. For the daimyō and kage, it was a chilling wake-up call. If the Emperor could repel or kill such fearsome opponents, then the Land of Whirlpools was a sleeping giant that others had grievously underestimated. Oh, its was never contested that Uzushio was an economic beast but they were untested, until now that is. Now Uzu was tried and tested army that repelled one of the major village however diminished they are now and few minor village with lot of S rank shinobi in the force.
-------------{XX}-----------------------{XXX}-----------------------------{XX}-----------------
In the aftermath of that botched invasion, the mood in Uzu was grim, as many had lost their lives. While the Emperor was occupied with numerous affairs and preparing for the fallout of Uzu's retaliation, furthermore he was needed in Uzu as a detarent. He delegated to his wife, Tsunade Senju, to lead the counterattack against the Land of Water. Officially, her name alone was enough to command armies. In practice, however, Tsunade was forced to oscillate between the battlefield and the medical wards, for Uzu had many critically injured shinobi in need of her expertise, with Suifu being the most critical of them all. He had pushed his body, mind, and chakra far beyond human limits with various enhancements it was a miracle he survived in the first place.
Standing at her side, though slightly behind in protocol, was Rashirom Uzumaki. He served as the figurehead on the battlefield because tradition demanded an Uzumaki lead Uzu's forces whenever they marched to war. His injuries from the invasion were still healing, but necessity overcame caution. He had to fill the large shoes of Lord Suifu since lady Tsunade will not lead the war at all time.
Yet the real drive came from those who itched for retribution. Kimimaro Kaguya, Terumi Mei, and Lord Koushiro Okamihane formed the true spearhead of the coming assault. Kimimaro wore his usual unreadable expression, but a simmering rage lay behind his pale eyes. Mei, though fatigued, refused to sit idle while Kirigakure once her beloved home remained under the shadow of a tyrannical regime. And Lord Koushiro Okamihane, a man whose pride had been wounded, had vowed to reclaim his clan's honour after they had been trapped behind their own barriers.
"Don't falter now, Lord Okamihane," Tsunade said, her voice carrying the faintest tinge of sympathy. She recognized the tension in his posture before their ships set sail from Uzu's harbor. "It wasn't your fault the barrier trapped you and your wolves during the invasion. You did all you could."
Koushiro gave her a stiff bow, his eyes smoldering. "We did too little, my lady. I will not rest until the Water Daimyō kneels in chains before the Emperor. This, I swear on my blood and my clan's name."
Tsunade understood that no amount of absolution could quell the bitterness he felt. Honor, once tarnished, was no easy thing to polish clean.
-------------{XX}-----------------------{XXX}-----------------------------{XX}-----------------
The Okamihane Clan was known for their loyalty and wolves who are massive, intelligent that acted as both companions and weapons. On the dark night when the Land of Water's forces originally approached Uzu, Koushiro's wolves had launched a ruthless sabotage. Kamizuru scouts provided intel from above, the wolves smelled and struck from the shadows, and the Iburi Clan transformed their bodies into dense mist to slay unsuspecting troopers in their sleep. However, all these efforts were undone when a sudden, powerful barrier immobilized them, isolating the Okamihane from the invasion's defense.
Lord Koushiro had knelt in the Emperor's court afterward, begging forgiveness for his clan's failure to repel the threat. The Emperor had simply laid a hand on Koushiro's head and said, "Rise, Okamihane. Your valor is not in doubt."
Yet Koushiro's pride demanded reparation tangible, decisive act of loyalty. In that moment, he vowed to bring the Water Daimyō to the Emperor in chains as per the emperor's order. He would make an example of the man who sanctioned Yagura's invasion of Uzu.
-------------{XX}-----------------------{XXX}-----------------------------{XX}-----------------
On the other side was Kimimaro Kaguya who owed his very life to the Emperor's intervention. At a time when his body was succumbing to an incurable illness and his deced into darkness, the Emperor had used his only boon with the Senju to ask Tsunade for a miracle. No one had expected that Kimimaro, a youth with a cursed bloodline and failing organs, would survive. But Lady Tsunade's genius as a medical kunoichi had worked the impossible.
Breaking his reverie, Tsunade approached. She leaned against the railing, glancing sideways at him. "You've barely spoken since we embarked. Everything alright?"
Kimimaro didn't shift his gaze from the horizon. "I have a mission, Lady Tsunade. Failure is not an option."
Tsunade gave a soft sigh. "Your commitment borders on self-sacrifice. I need you focused, but not reckless."
"Recklessness would be conter productive to His Grace's cause," Kimimaro replied. "I won't do that. But know this: I will bring the Water Daimyō to the Emperor's feet. Even if it costs me my life."
"No, Kimimaro. While I appreciate your thought, this mission should be done as a team, as a well-oiled machine. There is no you or I when it comes to war,
-------------{XX}-----------------------{XXX}-----------------------------{XX}-----------------
As time went by for all the swift victories on the outer islands, the allied forces found an unexpected advantage: many villagers in the Land of Water welcomed the attackers or, at least, did not resist them. The remnants of Yagura's reign and the Water Daimyō's subsequent policies had ignited a deep-seated fear of bloodlines in few. Consequently, those who harboured no loyalty to Yagura's ideology sometimes preferred the possibility of new leadership over the tyranny they knew.
In one fishing hamlet, a middle-aged fisherman stepped out of his hut as Kaguya clansmen marched through. "You'll find no fight here," he called, hands raised in a gesture of surrender.
A Kaguya soldier, uneasy with the lack of resistance, asked, "Where are your militia?"
The fisherman shook his head, expression weary. "Gone. Some fled inland after your forces swept over the neighboring island. Others are holed up in the capital, or so I hear." He paused, then added, "I've heard rumors that the new Uzu leadership is…different. We're tired of living under tyrants. We don't want this ever present dark clouds in the land of water."
Kimimaro, who observed the exchange from the back of the formation, made a small gesture with his hand. The Kaguya soldier nodded and moved on. They had no interest in punishing civilians. Orders from Tsunade and Rashirom were clear: any who laid down arms and posed no threat were to be left unharmed.
"Let them be," Kimimaro murmured, half to himself. "We have a more important target."
At dawn on the second day of the campaign, Tsunade convened a brief war council aboard the largest vessel in their fleet. Rashirom stood at her side, suppressing a wince as he flexed his bandaged arm. Kimimaro, Mei, and Koushiro were in attendance, along with representatives from each allied clan: Kamizuru, Prajna, Hōzuki, Yuki, Terumi, Fūma, Iburi, Roku, Rinha, and Hatake.
"You all know our orders," Tsunade began, her voice firm. "By the Emperor's decree, the banner of Uzu must fly from the Mizukage Tower and the Water Daimyō's palace within three days. We have already lost one day securing these outer islands. We cannot slow down now."
Terumi Mei nodded, crossing her arms. "Kirigakure has plenty of territory, but its true power was Yagura himself and the loyalists he controlled. With Yagura gone, we should be able to break through the Mist's gates."
Rashirom raised a cautionary finger. "Even so, we must be mindful. The Land of Water's capital is a fortress in its own right. The Daimyō may have summoned his army of samurai and shinobi there."
Koushiro let out a low growl, eyes flickering. "We will handle whatever he throws at us."
Tsunade looked at him, then addressed the entire council. "I will do what I can from the medical standpoint, but I can't be everywhere at once. Kimimaro and Koushiro, you'll each lead separate forces to converge on the capital simultaneously. Rashirom you will lead the forces to the Hidden Mist. Once I finish stabilizing our wounded, I'll join you at the capital for the final assault day after tomorrow and to handle any protocol or noble issues. Understood?"
They all nodded. There was no mistaking the sense of inevitability that hung in the air like a loaded crossbow.
-------------{XX}-----------------------{XXX}-----------------------------{XX}-----------------
Mid-morning of the second day saw Rashirom Uzumaki and Terumi Mei at the head of an imposing force outside Kirigakure's gates. The once-mighty bastion of the Hidden Mist looked unsettlingly quiet and weak. A heavy mist hung over the village remnants of the typical Kirigakure environment but it lacked the usual vigor, as if weakened by Yagura's death.
Utakata, the jinchūriki of Six-Tails, stepped forward and transformed into the 6 tails and blew a cluster of soap-bubble-like spheres that drifted toward the gate. The defenders behind the walls braced themselves, uncertain of what to expect. In a sudden flash, the bubbles exploded, their acidic vapor dissolving layers of fortified wood and metal. With a roar, Terumi Mei unleashed her Lava Release, further destabilizing the gate. While Uzumaki seal masters activated the seal on Utakata to transform him back, since he can't maintain control more than 8 minutes.
"On my mark!" Rashirom shouted. "Tear down the remains!"
Mei's lips curled in anger. "Kirigakure was once my home," she murmured. "But Yagura poisoned it. No more." She inhaled sharply, then breathed out an acidic mist that spread through the ranks of defenders like a devouring plague. Screams punctured the thick fog as armor and flesh began to corrode.
In the midst of the chaos, Rashirom deftly parried a sword strike aimed at his head. He retaliated with a slicing wind jutsu that knocked his attacker off balance. The second slash of his blade ended the man's resistance.
"Press on!" he ordered, voice echoing across the battlefield. "We need that tower secured by noon!"
Fighting surged through the streets, yet the result was never in doubt. The invading force was too large, too well-coordinated, and too driven by vengeance. By the time the noon sun pierced the fog, the banner of Uzu had been hoisted atop the Mizukage Tower. Those defenders who survived and were not fanatically loyal offered their surrender, dropping weapons onto the blood-slicked pavement.
While Kirigakure was falling, Kimimaro Kaguya and Koushiro Okamihane led their forces toward the Water Daimyō's palace. Sprawled over a rocky peninsula, the fortress city was protected by towering walls, labyrinthine canals, and what remained of the Water Daimyō's personal guard.
Tsunade, after ensuring the wounded from earlier skirmishes were stable, joined them at the last moment. She arrived perched atop Katsuyu .
"So here we are," Tsunade said, dismounting gracefully from Katsuyu's back. She surveyed the sprawling walls with narrowed eyes. "One high noble to challenge another. If anyone complains about protocol, I'm here to quiet them."
Koushiro's wolves prowled behind him, snarling low at the defenders beyond the walls. "I owe it to the Emperor to take this fortress," he muttered. "We do not leave until the Daimyō is on his knees."
Kanna moved up next to Tsunade, scanning the battlements. "I can sense a large cluster of chakra signatures near the main gate. They're mobilizing."
Tsunade gave a curt nod. "Then let's not keep them waiting."
-------------{XX}-----------------------{XXX}-----------------------------{XX}-----------------
Night closed in, painting the fortress battlements in the cool glow of lanterns. Two colossal gates blocked direct entry. Archers and shinobi stood atop them, watching the allied army gather below with guarded tension. At Tsunade's signal, Fū stepped forward, her teal hair swaying in the wind as a bubbling aura of green chakra began to swirl around her. The cloak of the Seven-Tails might have remained incomplete, but even six tails of chakra were more than enough to test the gate's resilience. Since she could do a complete transformation.
"Alright, time to see how sturdy they made this thing," Fū roared. Clenching her fists, she charged forward and slammed both hands against the massive wooden structure then her six tails followed. A shockwave rippled outward. With an ear-splitting crack, the gate tore free from its hinges, debris exploding in all directions.
On the opposite flank, Tsunade activated her Strength of a Hundred Seal. The purple diamond on her forehead glowed ominously, channeling chakra into raw physical power. She drove her fist into the second gate, splintering the reinforced wood and iron as if they were nothing but paper.
"No more hiding behind walls!" Tsunade roared, stepping through the wreckage with Katsuyu looming behind her.
A volley of arrows whistled through the air, forcing the front lines to scatter. Kimimaro darted forward, bones emerging from his forearms. With a graceful flourish, he deflected incoming projectiles, the metallic clangs echoing in the night. The Hōzuki Clan capitalized on the opening, liquefying themselves to rush forward and drag unsuspecting defenders under the swirling moat water.
In the face of such relentless power, many defenders broke ranks. Others, loyal to the Daimyō, stood firm. Samurai in gleaming armor and skilled shinobi unleashed a barrage of water jutsu, clashing with lightning jutsu from the Hatake clan, acid from Terumi loyalists, and the swirling insects of the Kamizuru. The courtyard became a cacophony of clashing steel, elemental fury, and cries of the wounded.
Inside the besieged palace, the Water Daimyō anxiously watched from a high balcony. He had gambled everything on Yagura's success in conquering Uzu. Now, his fortress was overrun, his men dying in droves. The Emperor's wrath had come for him far swifter than he ever thought.
"My Lord," said one of his S-rank guards, sweat beading on his forehead, "if we hurry, we can still escape with your family through the underground passage. Let the others buy us time."
"Then do it! Hurry!" the Daimyō snapped, nearly tripping over the hem of his ornate robe as he hurried down the hallway along with his family.
The small group navigated torchlit corridors and hidden passages, the screams of dying soldiers echoing behind them. At last, they reached a hidden trapdoor. The Daimyō descended into the cramped tunnel, flanked by his two elite bodyguards.
They emerged in a forest clearing beneath the open sky only to find Tsunade Senju, Kimimaro, and Kanna Uzumaki waiting.
Kanna tapped her temple, smirking faintly. "Sensory ninjutsu is a wonderful thing. You have nowhere left to hide, my lord."
"What is the meaning of this?!" the Daimyō roared, his eyes darting around for another escape. "I am the rightful ruler of the Land of Water! You have no authority—"
His protests died in his throat as his S-rank guards launched themselves at Tsunade and Kimimaro. One guard, blade wreathed in crackling lightning, aimed a vicious overhead strike at Tsunade. She sidestepped gracefully and landed a punishing counterpunch to the man's ribs, shattering them with audible cracks. The second guard targeted Kimimaro, unleashing a barrage of kunai and wind blasts. With fluid motions, Kimimaro extended bone spikes from his wrists, deflecting the projectiles before launching his own deadly dance.
In a flurry of white bone shards and bursting red mist, the second guard collapsed. Tsunade's opponent coughed blood, dropping his blade to the ground, which clattered down.
Realizing his last line of defense had fallen, the Daimyō stumbled backward. "You can't do this! I demand—"
Tsunade cut him off, grabbing the front of his robe with a single powerful hand. "Demand? I am Tsunade Senju, a high noble in my own right. You have attacked the Land of Whirlpools, conspired with a maniac, and spilled innocent blood. You forfeited your life the moment you people set foot on Uzu."
Her grip tightened, and the Daimyō's face paled. Within seconds, he found himself in chains and manacled as a common criminal. His screams of protest filled the clearing but carried no weight.
-------------{XX}-----------------------{XXX}-----------------------------{XX}-----------------
Back at the palace, the allied forces swarmed through corridors and reception halls, looting and cataloging everything of value. Samurai armor, priceless tapestries, ornate chandeliers nothing remained untouched. The Prajna Group had boxed up the treasury's gold and jewels, sealing them into scrolls for transport.
"Check the walls for hidden compartments," an Iburi shinobi barked. "The Daimyō must've concealed more than what we see."
One by one, the nobles who had backed the invasion were dragged into the grand hall, bruised and terrified. Interrogators from the Yuki Clan subjected them to chilling interrogation literally, gleaning the locations of hidden vaults and forbidden scrolls. The aristocrats wept and babbled, each hoping to save themselves by betraying their peers. As the nobles blabbed forces were sent to their castle to strip them of their fortune.
Meanwhile, a parallel operation took place in Kirigakure's Mizukage Tower. Terumi Mei, now effectively the highest authority in the village, ordered her loyalists to seal away all archived scrool, jutsu scrolls, and research notes. Any staunch Yagura supporters who refused to surrender were tortured briefly, but effectively for the location of black-market arms caches and stolen jutsu. By the night, the entire building had been stripped clean of its secrets.
-------------{XX}-----------------------{XXX}-----------------------------{XX}-----------------
In the mid night a procession left the palace gates. At the head walked Kimimaro and Koushiro Okamihane along with contingent who formed perimeter around Lady Tsunade, who was atop Katsuyu in her scaled-down form. Behind them, chains rattled against the cobblestones, and the Water Daimyō stumbled along, flanked by armed guards. The symbolic humiliation was undeniable: once the highest noble in his land, now reduced to a prisoner of war.
Koushiro stood off to one side, his wolves looming behind him. One of them growled softly, as if disappointed it hadn't gotten to sink its teeth into the Daimyō. Koushiro's lips curved into a harsh smile.
"You have what you came for, Lord Okamihane," Tsunade said quietly, noticing the expression.
He nodded. "Indeed. Now let me deliver him to the Emperor's feet. Only then will my clan's humiliation be repaid."
"You'll have that chance." Tsunade turned her gaze forward, towards the warships anchored at the docks. "All that remains is the Emperor's judgment."
Kimimaro's grip tightened on the chain. For the briefest moment, a flicker of satisfaction crossed his face. This was the final step.
-------------{XX}-----------------------{XXX}-----------------------------{XX}-----------------
The allied armies did not depart entirely. Rashirom Uzumaki, along with Ao, Manjūtsu, and other generals from Kirigakure, remained in the Land of Water to maintain order. Although the Emperor's forces had claimed victory, the region threatened to collapse into chaos without a structured transition. Terumi Mei volunteered to stay..
Back in the deserted palace halls, a few squads lingered to root out hidden traps or rescue the occasional frightened servant. Smoke drifted in the cool morning air as charred wreckage and half-collapsed gates testified to the brutality of the siege. Yet a sense of grim accomplishment permeated the atmosphere.
-------------{XX}-----------------------{XXX}-----------------------------{XX}-----------------
With the last of the spoils secured and the Daimyō's wails echoing over the docks, Tsunade gave the order to set sail. A line of warships slowly pulled away from the battered coastline, leaving behind a skeleton force to keep the peace. The sea breeze carried the tang of salt and the faint stench of burnt wood.
Tsunade, meanwhile, sat cross-legged on the upper deck, re-checking the Daimyō's restraints with Kanna Uzumaki. The Daimyō spat curses at them, insisting that a high noble could not be treated this way. Tsunade ignored him with a regal tilt of her chin, reminding him coldly, "I, too, am a high noble. And you're the enemy the Emperor."
As they reached Uzushio's harbour there was sense of fulfilment which was not shared by the rest of elemental nation.
-------------{XX}-----------------------{XXX}-----------------------------{XX}-----------------
While the Water Daimyo was dragged to the whirling court. In the land of fire the fire daimyo sat along with his court filled with the nobles in his inner circle.
The audacity of the Uzumaki to have a high noble captured like common theif. Why wasn't I informed of this prioir concequnce be damned I would have ordered Hiruzen to march or send my own army in support of the water daimyo. Even in the hight of war there is an agreement that while the 5 daimyo may loose land or money they will not be harmed not heir palace be seased. What Uzumaki lord has done is against all our convention.
A war general of land of fire stood up and said I am sorry sire. We didn't have notice of the retaliation. The uzushio army has not even waited a day they counter attack was immediate. All report and analysis said that they will first stablise their popele and forces first but they left them self wide open and went on offensive. And in record breaking time they conqured one of major 5. this will stand out as the shortest war of all time if it can be called war in first place.
From our report the moment the Yagura died the remaining mist shinobi retreated and fanatics remained to be killed by the emparors hands. But what the army didn't know was that Uzumaki lord had changed the whirlpool patteren as the invasion was going so their entering path was no more their exit. Now since the most of the army was satered or deadin whirlpool it was easy for the Uzumaki kill a headless command less army. Which made sure that none power shinobi of mist survive uzu. The few who survived including our spies could let the information reach us on time.
Grand monk of fire temple stood up and said its fool hardy my lord Uzumaki them self are high noble for what the water daimyo tried and from the last invasion of uzu the daimyo respect was not offered to the Uzumaki royal line hence there is nothing that make the Uzumaki lord to spare the water daimyo if you press too much theuzumaki lord will open the old legiure of where was these law when is the main line hunted and killed in the last invasion.
-------------{XX}-----------------------{XXX}-----------------------------{XX}-----------------
While the Water Daimyo was dragged to the whirling court, in the Land of Fire, the Fire Daimyo sat along with his court, filled with the nobles in his inner circle.
"The audacity of the Uzumaki to have a high noble captured like a common thief! Why wasn't I informed of this prior? Consequences be damned, I would have ordered Hiruzen to march or sent my own army in support of the Water Daimyo. Even in the height of war, there is an agreement that while the five Daimyo may lose land or money, they will not be harmed, nor will their palaces be seized. What the Uzumaki lord has done is against all our conventions."
A war general of the Land of Fire stood up and said, "I am sorry, sire. We had no notice of the retaliation. The Uzushio army did not even wait a day; their counterattack was immediate. All reports and analyses suggested that they would first stabilize their people and forces, but instead, they left themselves wide open and went on the offensive. In record-breaking time, they conquered one of the major five. This will stand out as the shortest war of all time if it can even be called a war in the first place.
"From our reports, the moment Yagura died, the remaining Mist shinobi retreated, and only the fanatics remained to be killed by the Emperor's hands. But what the army didn't know was that the Uzumaki lord had changed the whirlpool pattern as the invasion was ongoing, so their entry path was no longer their exit. Since most of the army was scattered or dead in the whirlpool, it was easy for the Uzumaki to kill a headless, command-less army, ensuring that no powerful Mist shinobi survived in Uzu. The few who did, including our spies, barely managed to let the information reach us in time."
The Grand Monk of the Fire Temple stood up and said, "It is foolhardy, my lord. The Uzumaki themselves are high nobles. Considering what the Water Daimyo attempted and the lack of respect shown to the Uzumaki royal line since the last invasion of Uzu, there is nothing compelling the Uzumaki lord to spare the Water Daimyo. If you press too much, the Uzumaki lord will open the old ledger and question where these laws were when his main line was hunted and killed in the last invasion."
"Whose side are you on, Grand Monk?" said Jeramy Aethil. "This is a clear attempt at war-mongering, as even other villages will stake a claim to Mist, which could lead to war."
The Fire Daimyo's head was churning. If the fall of the Hidden Mist could, in turn, cause the Land of Water to collapse, how dependent were they on the hidden village? And the real question, how dependent is the Hidden Leaf?
Call a daimyo Summit.
