Jessica took a deep breath as she stepped into the lobby of Damon's office.
Patrick, Damon's assistant, looked up from his computer and gave her a polite smile when he recognized her. "Miss Monroe. What a surprise," He greeted pleasantly, since he was the one who had interviewed her for the job from the start, on Kate's recommendation.
Jessica responded pleasantly and once they were done exchanging pleasantries she glanced at Damon's office door, "Is Damon in?" she asked, not realizing that she had casually used his first name.
On the other hand, Patrick's expression shifted slightly at her use of Damon's first name. "He's in a meeting right now. It might take a while."
Jessica hesitated. She could just leave and see him at home later in the evening, but a part of her didn't want to walk away again. Not after how she had disappointed him earlier.
"I'll wait," she said, moving to the small seating area in the office.
