Hunter arrived at the same restaurant he met with Mrs Bancroft, and like before, he got there thirty minutes before the set time of the meeting.
He didn't bring Fred with him this time since Fred still had some things to take care of at the office, and Hunter didn't see any reason to bring him just to make him wait in the car doing nothing.
As he stepped inside the private dining area where the meeting was to take place, he stopped in his tracks, surprised.
Inside, he found himself facing four women seated together at a table, one of whom was Mrs Bancroft. Their expressions were disapproving, and their eyes filled with purpose.
"I wasn't expecting all of you," he said, surprised that Mrs Scofield had not only arrived there before him, but had brought the other ladies with her.
One of the women, an older lady in an elegant dress, folded her hands on the table. "You must be surprised to see us here," Madam Pearl said.
