Hunter didn't doubt that those women and their families had suffered because of Delilah. He had seen glimpses of Delilah's past, the reckless, self-destructive version of her that had once existed. The woman who had used men and discarded them without a second thought. But that wasn't who she was anymore.
He sighed as he pulled out his phone. He needed to hear from her.
Delilah picked up after the third ring. "Hunter?"
Her voice was warm but he could hear the tension beneath it.
"Where are you?" he asked.
"On my way home from the nursing home. I was around the area with a client so I stopped by to visit the residents and read to them."
Of course. This was a part of her life too, something she never boasted about, something she kept private.
He wondered what those four women would say or think of her if they found out about this part of her life.
"I just had an interesting meeting," he said, swirling his whiskey when the waiter placed it in front of him.
