(A few hours later)
[General P.O.V]
The sun had set and Arlo had come to the laboratory to see what what Dr. Brenner wanted from him.
He scanned his card before entering the building, heading towards the higher floors.
"Arlo! You came, welcome to the team." The Doctor entoned.
"Now, to give you a summary of what you will be doing from now on. You will be escorting agents in hazmat suits through the interdimentional gate. Your job is to protect them and help bring back some DNA samples for further study, can you do that?"
"Yes sir," the 1,90 m (6ft 3) tall teen responded.
"Good."
"We will also be testing that barrier of yours," He smiled
"Our goal will be to figure out how strong it truly is, and what exactly you can do with it to get an acurate description of your abilities. We will stick with protection though for now. Give him a suit, ."

(A few minutes later)
[Arlo's P.O.V]
I had been a given suit to wear before I would enter the dark dimension and was now standing infront of the gate.
"Hey man, sorry about yesterday. Brenner must have told you already, but I was on edge at the time an-," I tried justifying myself. I didn't like the idea that I didn't know them and that on top of that, they hated me. So a little sorry speech was in order to break the ice until I was rudely interrupted.
"Ehhh... It's ok dude, some of us are a little irritated, I admit... and you can't say it isn't justified. But, when we came here, we knew that what we signed up for was risky stuff. This is just another day at work. All I ask of you is to be aware of your surroundings, stay alert so that when we need that barrier of yours, you can be to be ready to put it up." reassured, the team leader.
"Yup, before... this mission was basically a death sentence considering bullets don't seem to work on these things. But now... now that we have you, we have a chance to survive," Another man told me.
"I'll try to not disappoint then," I responded.
"Ready, boys?" The leader of the squad intoned.
"Yes sir," they repeated calmly with determination in their voices.
It was at this moment that we stepped inside the bridge, I was greeted with the familiar sight of black Vines and all those signs that demonstrated that this place had been infected.
We moved towards the exit of this dimension's version of Hawkins laboratory, moving up stairs into the disgusting parallel imitation of the real world forest located near the lab.
Considering the aggression levels of the creatures living here, the mission was supposed to be quick; come in, attract the attention of those flower Monsters, kill them, and go back.
Simple, right?
"JOHNATHAN!!"
I could hear someone yell in the distance and it seemed like the others could hear her too.
"Should we check this out," I asked them.
"If humans were captured by the animals, then we unfortunately can't do anythin-"
I narrowed my eyes in confusion.
"Sir, we have Arlo. Besides, that thing is going to be attracted to whoever is screaming." One of them interuppted. I agreed completely, I didn't want for anyone to be trapped in this place, especially since they couldn't defend themselves.
"We'd be killing two birds with one stone." He continued.
The rest weren't emotionless beings, not to my knowledge at least. Which caused them to all agree to the idea of checking out what was going on.
I quickly created a few bubbles into which I ushered everyone before entering one myself and launching us as hundreds of miles per hour through the terrain.
It took us a minute or so to get there, in which time, the noise had already faded, with only our bipedal target prancing around, itself also looking for the origin of the noise. I hovered over the area.
"We now have visual on the target. Arlo, that fucker is all yours. Put us down while we're at it."
I quickly released the other CIA agents before conjuring a colossal barrier that encompased our surroundings to get a read of our suroundings and swiftly capturing the nine foot entity in a bubble right after. "Oh I got him alright," I responded, smiling lightly.
It was then that I noticed a small piece of bark closing up on what looked like a mini gate that to awarness granted by the barrier.
"Guys, you see this?" I asked, showin them this new developpement.
They quickly turned serious, "This bastard can create little portals around Hawkins... that must be how it kidnapped those people." The leader muttered.
"You think it might get through your barrier?"
"Not a chance. Either he breaks it, which he can't, or he stays trapped. Not even a telepath or a user of telekinesis can manipulate what is inside the barrier. Unless they are more powerful than me which would break it, but good luck finding those if they even exist." I chuckled.
They looked at each other and shifted uncomfortably before changing the subject.
"Hey can we use the travel bubble thingie again,"
I simply looked at him blandly before smiling, "Sure."
'Is there someone with telekinesis here?' I pondered.

(A minute and half later)
"Very good, consider me impressed. Your first mission was a massive success, joining us was the right move," Brenner applauded.
"My pleasure doc."
"You can go home now since we'll take it from here, your High School papers are being processed, and all the official documents for you to become a US citizen are in order. They will be ready in a week or so, so come by for some more tests tomorrow morning."
"Okay then, I'll see you tomorrow sir."
