The grip around me loosened and I fell to my knees just as my captor collapsed beside me, blood pooling beneath him.
I looked up gasping for breath.
And that's when I saw him.
Standing at the door with a gun still smoking in his hand.
Elias.
Alive.
And smiling.
"Miss me?" he asked, tilting his head.
The world spun.
All that I had known, all that I had been hanging onto crashed in an instant.
Hailey's POV
The room spun around me, and panic beat like a war drum in my chest. Elias stood before me, flesh and blood, with a distorted smile playing on his lips. Impossible. He was supposed to be dead.
Vickson moved first, instantaneously raising his weapon. "You shouldn't be here," he said fiercely.
Elias laughed as he stepped over the corpse of one of his dead assassins "Oh Vickson" he said with a sigh shaking his head like an amused teacher reprimanding a clueless student "You know that's not true. I should have been here much sooner"
