"Kokabiel, I will kill you here," Mika declared, standing over him in the chasm created by their earlier clash.

Kokabiel, momentarily stunned, burst into laughter. "Kill me? You? Do you really think a mere scratch like this can stop me? Don't disappoint me, boy."

He shook his head, then roared, "I am Kokabiel, a Fallen Angel Cadre who has battled gods and Satans! Do you think a wound like this is anything new to me?!"

"While your curse is—annoying, it's hardly insurmountable, not for me—not for the Fallen Angels. I've changed my mind. I'm no longer interested in facing Sirzechs. I'll kill you here and now!"

"Argh!" He summoned a massive light spear.

"You won't get the chance." Mika swung his spear, and demonic flames, fueled by his Devil power, erupted—enveloping Radiant Spear.

In the blink of an eye, both Mika and Kokabiel unleashed their full power, their weapons colliding.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMM!

The impact darkened the sky above Kuoh Town.

——

Outside the Academy.

"Argh!" The Student Council members, who had been maintaining the barrier around the school, were sent flying as the barrier shattered under the force of Mika and Kokabiel's clash.

They lay on the ground, groaning in pain, their bodies battered and bruised, blood trickling from their lips. Even Sona Sitri—a High-class Devil, wasn't spared.

"Sona!" Rias, who had anticipated such an outcome when she sensed the surge of power from Mika and Kokabiel, had rushed to the scene with Asia.

"Asia, heal them! Quickly!"

"Yes, President!"

"Sona!" Rias said, holding Sona, whose face was pale. "Don't worry, none of your peerage are dead. They're badly injured, but Asia can heal them." She knew what Sona was thinking; they were close friends.

"That's—good…" Sona nodded weakly, relieved.

Just then, Akeno arrived with Issei, Yuuto, and Koneko.

"This is bad," Issei murmured, seeing the injured Student Council members.

"It couldn't be helped. No one anticipated such destructive power," Yuuto said, shaking his head.

"Mika likely redirected the force of his attack upwards to avoid damaging the surroundings. He must have forgotten about the barrier. The impact shattered the barrier and injured the Student Council members who were maintaining it," Koneko explained.

"Actually, the barrier's destruction and their injuries have nothing to do with Mika redirecting his attack," Akeno countered.

"With their level of power, the barrier wouldn't have lasted regardless. It simply wasn't strong enough to contain their attacks." She gazed towards the distant battlefield, streaks of light flashing across the sky. The sheer power emanating from the academy pressed down on them.

"So this is the power of the Ultimate-class—" Akeno, Issei, Xenovia, Yuuto, and Koneko stared in awe.

Then—two blurs of light, one crimson, one white—ascended into the sky—clashing repeatedly.

"That's Mika and Kokabiel! They've taken their fight to the sky!" Akeno exclaimed.

"It makes sense. The ground can't withstand their power. Only the sky is a suitable battlefield for them," Xenovia said, her hand gripping Durandal tightly—a hint of frustration in her voice.

"Enough staring!" Rias called out. "We can't help Mika right now. Let's focus on healing the Student Council."

"Yes, President." They dispersed, checking on the injured. They were all comrades; helping each other was only natural.

"Clang!"

"Clang!"

"Clang!" Mika and Kokabiel clashed in the sky above Kuoh Academy—their wings beating powerfully as they maneuvered—each seeking an advantage.

"Clang!" Their weapons locked, and they held the position for a moment.

"Impressive skills for a mere devil! You even surpass me in some aspects! This is—intriguing!" Kokabiel exclaimed, his voice filled with genuine admiration.

Many Angels and Fallen Angels were skilled warriors—their endless lifespans and eons of war having honed their abilities. Kokabiel himself was a formidable combatant, his skills rivaling Mika's. That was why he was so impressed by Mika's prowess.

"I'm built different," Mika replied with a grin.

"Indeed, you are," Kokabiel agreed with a nod. "Which is precisely why I must kill you here and now." He pressed his attack once more.

But Mika wouldn't let him have his way. "Kill me? You're not strong enough." He swung Radiant Spear, deflecting Kokabiel's attack.

They clashed again, their battle raging across the sky.

"Haah!!!"

"Argh!" Their roars echoed through the night. As they fought, Mika could feel Kokabiel's power increasing.

He hadn't been using his full strength before—likely because he simply wanted to enjoy the fight.

Besides, he had been suppressing the curse from his wound—preventing it from weakening him. But now, he had abandoned all restraint, his desire to end the battle overriding all other considerations. That was why Mika felt the pressure intensifying.

"Trying to end this quickly? I'm not that easy to defeat." Mika grinned and retreated, Kokabiel following close behind. He wouldn't let Mika escape after witnessing his power.

"Trying to run?" he taunted.

Mika ignored him, their aerial chase continuing.

Suddenly—as Kokabiel flew through a cloud, Mika vanished.

"!!!"

"Where did he go?" He looked around, but Mika was nowhere to be seen. He remembered Mika's earlier ambush.

"Hiding, is he?" He couldn't sense Mika anywhere. He raised his hand, and dozens of light spears materialized around him.

"Show yourself!" He hurled the spears in all directions, targeting the clouds in the sky, the only possible hiding places in this empty expanse.

The spears pierced through the clouds, obliterating them one by one. Soon, the sky was clear for miles—but there was still no sign of Mika.

"Where did he go?" Kokabiel's unease grew as he searched the sky frantically.

"I'm right here," Mika's voice whispered from behind him.

Whoosh!

As his voice echoed—his spear flashed, severing Kokabiel's right arm.

"Damn it! Not this again!" Without hesitation, Kokabiel swung his light sword with his left hand, hoping to trade blows.

But Mika wouldn't give him the chance. He, too—summoned a sword of light, blocking the attack.

"What?!" Kokabiel stared in disbelief at the light sword in Mika's hand—sensing the power of light within it.

'How could a Devil wield the power of light?' Even he, a battle-hardened Fallen Angel Cadre, was momentarily stunned.

Mika seized the opportunity, kicking him towards the ground.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMM!

Kokabiel crashed like a meteor—the impact creating a massive crater, dust and debris billowing into the air.

"Another one down." Mika descended slowly—observing the devastation. With his arm severed, Kokabiel's fighting strength would be significantly reduced.

He was nearing defeat!

As for why he hadn't aimed for the head? He wasn't confident he could land a fatal blow.

While [Circle (Enhanced Zetsu)] rendered him practically invisible—attacking broke the illusion, potentially revealing his presence.

Targeting Kokabiel's head—a seasoned warrior with exceptional instincts, was too risky. He might dodge or defend.

However, a non-fatal injury—like a severed arm, was easier to inflict.

"Everything is proceeding as planned," he thought, landing softly on the ground and looking at the dissipating smoke.

"With my knowledge of his abilities—and my carefully calculated attacks, I've steadily gained the upper hand. He's growing weaker. But I can't be careless..."

"Still hiding? Don't worry, no one would believe I kicked you to death with a single blow."

As if summoned by his words, the smoke cleared—revealing Kokabiel, his right arm gone, standing defiantly. He looked at Mika, his gaze fixed on the Light sword.

"After the [Holy Demonic Sword]—now a Devil wielding the Power of Light? It seems God's death has truly weakened The System."

"What are you talking about, Kokabiel?!" Xenovia's voice, filled with rage, echoed from the side. Beside her stood Rias and her peerage, their expressions mirroring her disbelief. Kokabiel had landed near them.

They had rushed over after he crashed—and his words had shocked them.

Kokabiel chuckled. "Oh, you didn't know? It seems your superiors haven't informed you. During the last Great War, not only did the Four Great Satans perish, but so did the God of the Bible. God—is dead."

"Impossible!" Xenovia stared at him, her eyes wide with disbelief.

"It's understandable that you wouldn't know. Only the leaders of the Three Factions are aware. After all—humanity needs to believe in God. If they knew he was gone—chaos would erupt."

"That's why we kept it a secret."
