Bella arrived at Lucas' house after 10 pm; she walked in slowly, not wanting to cause any noise despite knowing that his room was at a far corner.
"You're not a professional thief" a voice spoke from the dark, startling her.
"Are you trying to give me a heart attack?" she said, holding her chest and feeling her heartbeat.
"I fell asleep here, but someone sneaking into my house woke me up," he stated, a teasing smile on his face.
"How's Alima doing?" He asked, sounding a bit more serious.
"She's better than yesterday," Bella replied, sitting down on a couch and relaxing her feet on an ottoman she hadn't seen before.
"Thank God" he replied. A soft smile on his face.
"She's getting discharged in a week, and she can start school
"It's late; I'm going to bed," Lucas said after a few seconds of silence.
"Hold on" Bella stopped him and put on a serious expression.
"You didn't know my husband or me before now." She stated and he nodded his head in agreement.
