The chaos of the past few days had finally subsided, and I was, for the most part, human again. Shibahime, Rindou, and Vilte, now wrapped in my oversized shirts, had huddled awkwardly after their transformation back from cats.
They shoved me into the bathroom under the pretense of "cleaning up," but once I returned, fully dressed, the interrogation began.
"Do you have any memory of what happened?" Shibahime asked, her piercing gaze sharp enough to rival a hawk's.
Feigning ignorance, I shrugged. "None. It's all a blur. One moment I was normal, and the next… Well, I assume the three cats must've wandered off somewhere."
I avoided eye contact, mostly because the girls' barely-there clothing was far too distracting. Focus, Red. Focus.
"Are you sure you don't remember anything?" Rindou pressed, folding her arms skeptically.
"Why would I lie?" I countered, forcing my expression into one of feigned confusion.
