After Daji starts talking about our baby, and after seeing the miracle of little Daji being born to Berry and Lowan, I'm impatient to get home. I know that makes no sense, because the baby isn't due for awhile. But we've been away from the inn for almost two weeks, and I'm starting to miss it. I know Daji feels the same way. We want to be back to our full size and wear our own clothes and sleep in our own bed.
But we can't go without a full pixie send-off, so we stand in the Great Hall while new parents Berry and Lowan load us up with miniature loot--treasure chests, boxes, tiny potions. They look like miniatures from my Dungeons & Dragons games.
"We have wonderful magical artifacts," Berry explains, waving a hand at the piles of fae swag. "Fantastic ones. And you don't even need to be pixie size to wield them."
"That's right," Lowan adds. "Although we do like you this size. Easier to talk with you and have a pint or a cup of tea with you."
