Shanguan Zu Jin's POV
I decided to leave the palace in secret while the Empress was busy with her affairs herself. I want to secretly visit the Zhang residence and make sure that they're not hiding or protecting Zhang Yihua.
I know it's a sign of distrust with Lord Zhang, but I can't help but be suspicious. Maybe because the person Zhang Yihua wants to kill was my beloved empress.
"Young master, what are you thinking? Your face was ugly when you made that expression. The empress might change her mind," Xu Jiaxu stated. I throw the water in his face. He wipes his face and looks at me.
"One more word or my fist will be the one that will land in your face," I warned. He raised his hands and took two steps backward. I kept on walking and followed me.
"I was just thinking if Lord Zhang really means his words. I hope he's not cursing us inside their hearts. I know they treated Zhang Yihua as their own child."
