On the other side, Karen spotted a newly acquainted friend among the crowd.
"What a coincidence~" she reached out and patted Li Xi's shoulder, "What are you doing here? Isn't it just this bar opening today~"
Li Xi turned around and greeted her.
He waved over a waiter and took two prawn pastries from the tray he was carrying, "Here."
Only then did Karen notice that the bar's opening wasn't just serving free drinks, but snacks were also available. Servers weaved through the crowd with trays, each loaded with an array of different nibbles.
"I'm in charge of the snacks today." Li Xi smiled. He sometimes took catering gigs for opening events like this. The bar didn't require much—just some small, fine, and easy-to-eat foods because most people weren't there to fill up. These gigs paid well and didn't take up too much time, making them an excellent source of extra income.
"Don't you dislike people drinking?" Karen chewed on the prawn pastry, "Why would you even take such a gig then?"
