Chapter 48 - Ende

As the spiritual energy coursed through his veins and capillaries pumped his muscles, Jiang Feng began walking towards the cave's entrance which he sealed with a rock he found nearby.

Taking a deep breath, Jiang Feng lifted his right hand and placed it on the boulder.

"Hmph!"

Making a light harrumph, Jiang Feng's fingers began closing in on the stone as they clenched onto it.

However, such light action brought big effects to the boulder as cracks spread from the center of Jiang Feng's palm was at, covering the whole thing in just seconds as they crumbled apart into pebbles.

A stupefied look was on Jiang Feng's face as light reentered the cave, his hand still hovering in the air.

'So easy!' Jiang Feng exclaimed inwardly.

Retracting his overreached hand, Jiang Feng walked out of the cave as the rays of light landed on him.

"There seems to be a few more hours until nightfall, I should make use of this to start hunting a few more monsters, lest I disappoint Ling." Jiang Feng said as a confident smile arose.

The next second, his figure sprinted into the forest as his search for a prey began.

After a few minutes with Spiritual Sense in use, Jiang Feng managed to locate another Werewolf with its pack of wolves surrounding it. Its strength was on par with the previous one that Jiang Feng killed, making it a good opponent to test his strength on.

Abruptly appearing before them, Jiang Feng's presence startled the Werewolf as the wolves stared ferociously at the foreign being.

Without waiting for an order, the group immediately lunged at Jiang Feng, whose hand now held a sword that appeared from thin air.

"I have no interest in you lot, so let's end this quick before I meet your boss." Jiang Feng said as his sword swung, hacking down a wolf that approached him with its claws.

By the time the Werewolf came back to its senses, a small pile of corpses had already appeared next to Jiang Feng.

Seeing its underlings being killed mercilessly by the human before it, wrath filled its mind as spiritual energy burst out from it.

ROAR!!!

The claws of the Werewolf extended out as its figure appeared in mid-air before Jiang Feng instantly, slashing down as it aimed to shred the human being into pieces.

Jiang Feng smirked at its futile attempt, lifting his sword that was now encased in his new technique, Shard Edge, before swinging at the monster.

Blood splattered across the ground as two loud thuds sounded.

With the use of Spiritual Energy Manipulation, the core was quickly taken out from the Werewolf's carcass before being stored in to Jiang Feng's space pouch.

Leaving the place immediately afterwards, Jiang Feng started looking for his next prey.

A bull, an ape, gigantic snakes, bears with metal-like appearances.

All of these were preys at Foundation Building Stage, yet they met the same fate of falling before Jiang Feng's blade as Jiang Feng approached them.

Despite having hunted till nightfall, Jiang Feng was still feeling energetic as he sat before the campfire he made. He had returned to his temporary abode, feasting on the homemade skewers that he sprinkled with seasonings.

Sitting on top of a log from a tree he just cut down, a look of seriousness appeared on Jiang Feng's face as he went deep in thought.

A monster core was conjured out as he held it in his hand, staring at it in silence.

'What should I do with this anyway? Absorbing the spiritual energy within would be beneficial for my breakthrough to Body Reconstruction Stage, but I'm not sure if what I have is even enough.'

'Putting that matter aside, who knew I'd be this strong from just becoming a Foundation Building Peak Stage cultivator? If I'm already this powerful, how much of an increment will it bring if I reach Body Reconstruction Entrance Stage?'

Grabbing another skewer, Jiang Feng immediately shoved it into his mouth before pulling the stick out, throwing it into the fire.

'Anyways, I'll just wait until three days are up before asking Ling. She should already planned things out for me.'

'For now, I'll just continue hunting monsters for their cores.'

Following through his plan, Jiang Feng went out to hunt Foundation Building Stage monsters as soon as the first ray of light entered his eyes.

Blood flowed all over the forest as Jiang Feng's sword moved, reaping the lives of the monsters that he preyed on.

Cores began piling up in his space pouch as its limit was nearing, making it inevitable that Jiang Feng had to return to the cave to clear a few things out.

Since the things he brought from Earth would most likely be destroyed if found by any monsters, Jiang Feg decided to just take out the cores and store them in the cave, sealing it up with nearby boulders and trees.

Returning to his hunt, Jiang Feng proceeded to loot more cores.

The long hours of extensive work finally came to an end as night descends, with darkness seeping into the sky.

Returning to the cave that was piled with cores, Jiang Feng nodded his head in satisfaction as he stared at the magnificent sight before him that he created.

A few more dropped onto the piles as Jiang Feng took them out from his space pouch.

Placing his hands on his hips, a proud smile appeared on Jiang Feng's face. Just as he was about to leave the cave, a sudden cold wind stormed in as it almost made Jiang Feng lose his balance.

Before he could turn around, suffocation struck Jiang Feng as his spiritual energy was being suppressed, causing him to be pressed against the ground.

"Quite the amount of cores you gathered, I see."

A voice sounded from the entrance of the cave as footsteps echoed. Struggling to move even a little, Jiang Feng looked through the corners of his eye as he stared at the appearance of the man that appeared.

Activating Night Eyes, Jiang Feng managed to get a clearer look at the newcomer's appearance.

The man was dark-toned with its upper body naked, his legs armored in something unknown while being fully black. his black hair was about a meter long, being untied and somehow styled like a lion's mane.

The pair of yellow eyes glared at Jiang Feng emotionlessly, as if looking at a bug that it could kill anytime.

"Who…are you?" Jiang Feng struggled as he squeezed out his question.

Receiving the question, the unknown being snorted as it walked past Jiang Feng who was forced to lay on the ground and towards the pile of cores.

"Who I am, you ask? Isn't it obvious enough, you foolish human?" With his back facing Jiang Feng, the man spoke as his hand reached for one of the many cores. Staring at it with the same cold gaze, the man followed his question the answer.

"I am the lord of this forest you call Starlight Forest, the single lion that rules over the monsters you kill mercilessly, Ende."
