Evander's POV
After talking to Claire, my anger had settled—at least a little. Since she didn't want to make a big issue out of it, I decided not to either. In the end, I simply took her hand and walked into the mansion.
The moment we stepped into the living room, my eyes landed on Caspian.
What the hell was he doing here? That was my first thought. But as I observed him, the way he was fidgeting, the way he kept glancing at Damian, and most importantly, the way he was trying to shift my attention away from the situation—it was obvious something was off with him.
And by the way, he kept nervously running his mouth; I could tell he was involved in this mess. He wasn't just here to visit. No, Caspian was trying to escape the situation because he knew that if I found out he had a role in this, I wouldn't let him off so easily.
But what I hadn't expected… was the absolute nonsense he blurted out in sheer desperation.
