Carl shook his head. "No, you don't need to. I don't need you to do that; I can drive myself."
"Get into the car." Hazel used her commanding voice to talk with him, and he looked offended, but then she didn't take disobedience lightly; she simply nodded to the car. "Go inside the car," she said more sternly right now.
This young man was stubborn, and she could tell that immediately. Yet, after what happened, Carl listened to her. He got inside the car and gave the car key to Hazel.
"What about your car?" Carl watched Hazel enter his car and abandon hers.
As they talked, the four men had run away with their beaten-up faces. They would return, and Hazel was sure about that. She dealt with impulsive people like that countless times.
"It's fine; someone will retrieve it." Hazel was thinking she would ask Nolu or Yara to get the car for her. "Get in now, or should I drag you?" She became impatient when she saw Carl was still standing outside the car.
