"Of course, my daughter is already four years old," Tsunade replied as she raised the pure gold ring on her finger, her tone calm and direct.
The air seemed to shatter with the sound of Jiraiya's breaking heart. His bloodshot eyes widened as he leaned closer to Tsunade, almost pleading. "Who is it? Who's the bastard that stole you away?"
Tsunade's expression darkened. "What did you just say?" Her voice carried a dangerous edge.
Jiraiya immediately backpedaled, laughing nervously. "I mean, who's the lucky guy? It must take someone extraordinary to win the heart of the most beautiful woman in the ninja world."
"He's just an ordinary businessman," Tsunade replied curtly, dismissing Jiraiya's attempt to pry. "He works far from the ninja world, and I intend to keep it that way. I don't want him involved in the chaos and danger of our world." She turned toward the villa and added, "You didn't come here just to chat, so let's talk inside."
As Tsunade walked toward the villa, Jiraiya followed, his face filled with a mix of disbelief and self-deprecation. "A businessman… I never thought I'd lose to someone like that," he muttered to himself.
Inside the villa, Shizune had already prepared tea and snacks under Tsunade's instruction. The courtyard was serene, with gentle sunlight filtering through the trees. Jiraiya took a seat across from Tsunade in the pavilion, still visibly shaken.
"Red hair? Is she from the Uzumaki clan?" Jiraiya asked as his eyes fell on Karin's mother, who was quietly serving tea.
"Yes," Tsunade answered, her tone softening. "Her name is Kazuki. She and her daughter Karin were treated as human blood bags in Kusagakure. They endured years of abuse, healing others while their own lives were drained. My husband learned of their plight and used his connections to save them. Since then, they've been living here, and I've taken Karin as my disciple."
Jiraiya's face darkened with anger at the cruelty of the ninja world. "That's tragic... It's a harsh reminder of how unforgiving this world can be once someone loses their home and protection."
Tsunade nodded but said nothing further. She glanced down at the small girl nestled in her arms. "This is Chinatsu, my daughter. She's named after the Senju legacy and the warmth of summer."
"Hello, Uncle Jiraiya," Chinatsu said politely, her voice soft and melodic, as she looked up at him with wide, innocent eyes.
Jiraiya tried to smile, but the pang in his heart was evident. "Hello, little one," he replied, his voice strained.
"Chinatsu, go play in your room for a while," Tsunade said gently, stroking her daughter's hair. "Your uncle and I have something important to discuss."
Chinatsu nodded obediently and left, giving Jiraiya a polite wave before disappearing into the villa.
Once they were alone, Tsunade's demeanor shifted. "Alright, what's brought you all the way here, Jiraiya? You're not the type to leave Konoha without good reason."
Jiraiya exhaled heavily. "Tsunade, the village needs you to return. Sarutobi-sensei wants you to take over as the Fifth Hokage."
Tsunade's expression hardened. "Why? Did something happen to the old man?"
"No, but it's worse than that," Jiraiya admitted. "Orochimaru has returned to the village, and we suspect he's planning something."
Tsunade raised an eyebrow, unconvinced. "Orochimaru? With you and the old man there, it shouldn't be difficult to handle him. There has to be more to this."
Jiraiya hesitated before nodding. "There is. Have you heard of Fujiwara Kirito?"
Tsunade's eyes narrowed. "The one who exposed the old man and Danzo's secrets?"
"That's the one," Jiraiya said grimly. "He infiltrated Konoha during the Chunin Exams. Not only did he severely injure Kakashi, Might Guy, and Asuma, but he also spread damning truths about the village's leadership. And... well, there's more."
Tsunade leaned forward, intrigued. "More?"
Jiraiya fidgeted, his face turning red. "Let's just say he caused a scene involving Sarutobi-sensei and the others. It's... complicated."
Tsunade smirked, sensing his discomfort. "Complicated? You're blushing like a schoolboy, Jiraiya. Just spit it out."
With great reluctance, Jiraiya recounted the revelry involving Sarutobi Hiruzen, Utatane Koharu, Mitokado Homura, and Shimura Danzo. As he finished, he buried his face in his hands, unable to meet Tsunade's gaze.
For a moment, there was silence. Then Tsunade burst out laughing, slamming her hand on the table. "Those old fools! I can't believe they got caught in such an embarrassing situation. And Danzo of all people!"
Jiraiya looked up, startled by her reaction. "You're... laughing?"
"Of course I am," Tsunade said, wiping tears of laughter from her eyes. "After all the nonsense those four put the village through, they deserved this. Honestly, I wish I'd been there to see it myself."
