In the end, Tsunade laughed so hard that tears streamed down her face. She finally understood why Jiraiya had come to invite her to be Hokage much earlier than expected. The antics of the four old Konoha leaders, orchestrated by her own "little man," were more amusing than she could have imagined.
"So, what's your answer, Tsunade?" Jiraiya asked, his lips twitching slightly, trying to suppress his curiosity and concern.
"Interesting. Yeah, quite interesting. I can't wait to go back to the village and watch those four old fools make a mess of themselves. Alright, I'll be the Hokage," Tsunade replied, wiping her tears and folding her arms confidently.
Jiraiya stared at her in disbelief. "Wait, what? What did you just say?"
"I said... I agreed," Tsunade repeated with a sly smile, emphasizing each word deliberately.
Jiraiya blinked in astonishment. "Why did you agree so quickly? Don't you need to discuss this with your husband?"
Tsunade chuckled. "Why not? Konoha is the village my grandfather founded, and now it's been turned upside down by those old fools. Cleaning up their mess is my responsibility. And as for my husband, he'll be thrilled to have the future Fifth Hokage as his wife."
"Little man?" Jiraiya muttered to himself, a bitter smile forming on his face. The realization that Tsunade had married and settled down hit him harder than he cared to admit.
"Well, when do you plan to leave? Konoha is at its weakest right now, and we need to return as soon as possible," Jiraiya pressed.
"Anytime works for me," Tsunade replied nonchalantly. "I'll leave a note for my husband later. By the way, you mentioned bringing someone interesting with you. Where are they?"
It was only then that Jiraiya froze, his face twisting with panic. He glanced around, realizing with horror that he had completely forgotten about Naruto.
Konoha Village
The sun was setting, casting a dim orange glow over the village. But the atmosphere in Konoha was far from peaceful.
The events of the past weeks—Fujiwara Kirito's infiltration, Orochimaru's appearance, and the humiliating exposure of Konoha's leadership—had plunged the village into turmoil.
On a high dome overlooking the village, Orochimaru stood leaning against a stone pillar. His golden snake-like eyes gleamed in the twilight. Beside him knelt Kabuto Yakushi, donning a Konoha headband as part of his disguise.
"Lord Orochimaru, Jiraiya has found Lady Tsunade in Tanzaku Street," Kabuto reported with a sly grin. "They've been traveling back to Konoha for the past four days and should arrive soon."
Orochimaru's lips curled into a sinister smile. "How unexpected that Tsunade agreed to return. I suppose Jiraiya must be devastated to see her married. That's quite amusing."
Kabuto adjusted his glasses. "There's more. According to the information I've gathered, Tsunade not only married but also has a daughter."
Orochimaru chuckled darkly. "A daughter? How intriguing. Well, none of it matters now. Let the windmill of Konoha start turning once again."
Konoha Hospital
In the hospital ward, a doctor was conducting a final check on Might Guy, Ibiki Morino, and Hayate Gekko.
"Your injuries have healed well," the doctor announced. "You weren't fatally wounded, which is fortunate. I'll arrange for the stitches to be removed, and you'll be discharged tomorrow. Just be cautious not to strain the wounds."
The three nodded as the doctor left the room.
"It looks like we've finally caught up, Ibiki, Hayate," Might Guy said, his tone filled with optimism.
Hayate coughed lightly. "Yes, though I never expected the Chunin Exams to start early. It seems strange that the Hokage would agree to Sunagakure's request."
Ibiki nodded in agreement. "Something about this entire exam feels off. First, Orochimaru, then Fujiwara Kirito, and now Sunagakure pushing for an earlier start. It all points to a larger scheme."
Kakashi's voice suddenly interrupted from the doorway. "You might be onto something. It could even be related to Sand Ninja Tokugawa's death when tracking Oto spies."
The door opened to reveal Kakashi, dressed in his jonin vest, casually walking in.
"Kakashi?" Might Guy, Ibiki, and Hayate turned to greet him.
"Hey, you all seem to be recovering well," Kakashi said, raising a hand in greeting.
"Aren't you supposed to be training the Uchiha kid?" Might Guy asked curiously.
"I left a shadow clone to supervise him," Kakashi replied, lifting his healed arm. "I just came here for a follow-up check and thought I'd see how you're doing. What about Asuma? He's not here?"
