I decide to try something, while Kurumi and I fly to a DEM base where Nia Honjo is. I start a dialogue.
"Kurumi, you're planning to kill me, aren't you? Probably to devour me afterwards." I'm not angry about this, it was obvious that [The Worst Spirit] would try something like this.
"...Who knows, Aurelio-san?"
"Why don't we make a deal, Kurumi?" I have a good proposal for her. I don't want Kurumi as an enemy, not because I'm not confident in a fight with her, but because fighting her is problematic, mainly because the way she is will make Shiori a hostage.
And that would be annoying and difficult to resolve, so it's better to keep our "alliance" safe for both sides, after all she also doesn't want to fight me.
"I'm listening."
"You probably think I'm getting stronger for my goal, and that when I have what I'm aiming for, I'll discard you, plus the chance that I'll try to kill you for your Sephira." A technically realistic view.
"But it happens that my goal doesn't require your Sephira." It's obvious that this is one of the things that makes her hesitate to trust me, she already knows that I'm stealing the Spirits' Sephiras, mainly because she helped me against Natsume.
"I don't need Nia Honjo's Sephira either, so how about I give it to you in exchange for you doing me a single favor for my goal? I'll forget all your acts against me and things like that."
"I don't need to increase my strength in any way." It's a fact that I'm not after Nia Honjo for her Sephira, in fact it's just because she's troublesome with her ability to collect information.
However, if I kill her and take her Sephira, I won't give it to Shiori, after all Shiori would undoubtedly use this power to research me and thus discover the whole truth about what I've been doing.
And worse, she would discover that I've been manipulating her feelings along with the fact that I've turned her into a girl.
"How can I believe this, Aurelio-san? You don't seem very trustworthy, you know? Hihihi," she says disdainfully with a small laugh.
"I'll give you the Sephira in advance as proof. Anyway, the plan was always to give it to you, I just wasn't going to give it because you gave me incomplete things, but it's not like I have much interest in keeping it."
I don't care if Kurumi discovers the truth about me, she's evil too, so it doesn't matter much.
"...Interesting proposal, Aurelio-san, is this fear?" She says with a malicious smile.
"Fear? No, it's more of an annoyance. We're irritating existences to each other and at most we're putting up with each other while wandering on a very thin line...but why not turn that thin line into a solid bridge?"
"...Prove it with actions. If you give me the information-gathering angel, I'll stay out of your way. Anyway, if you give me that angel, I wouldn't have to focus so much on certain points," she says.
"I accept, so as soon as we kill Nia, I'll give you the angel." Anyway, Shiori doesn't need all the angels, I just want to make sure she has strong enough angels to devastate the world without being stopped by anyone.
I probably only need Mukuro's angel and Tohka or Kotori's angel now, but basically I just need two more angels and with that I can ensure that Shiori will be unstoppable.
We fly to the DEM base where they are holding Nia captive. With Kurumi's stealth abilities and my abilities, we easily infiltrate. I reverse the functionality of any recording equipment, making it basically the same image all the time, just with the device counters working normally.
We reach an underground area in the base, descending to the deepest floors.
'I remember she has no faith in humanity...and that there's a device implanted in her head placed there to release all her suffering at once...' Isaac Westcott did this to make her invert.
Maybe I can make the device have some controversial effect, killing her in case of an emergency or something.
We soon arrive at a reinforced room full of equipment used to test and evaluate Nia.
'These equipments are a joke.' Analyzing these devices, I'm disappointed they're far inferior to technologies like Goetia. My ability to analyze things is billions of times better than these old cans.
"...So this is her current state..." I think we arrived at her faster than in the anime, so the state we find her in is trapped in a machine with a somewhat dead look as her brain is analyzed.
"Tsk..." She's almost a zombie in this state, there's no way I can ask her the things I want to know with her like this.
"Kurumi, did you know about this state?"
"...No, she was better when I found this place."
'This machine...could they be analyzing how to steal Sephiras? After all, Isaac was able to steal one somehow.' This doesn't matter much at the moment. I cut the wires and extensions of the machine, quickly removing her from it.
"Are we going to take her? I thought you were going to kill her," Kurumi questions.
"I will, but not before she answers me some questions or I try some things." The biggest doubt I have is whether her angel can or cannot discover that I come from another world and what my goal is.
As I remember in the anime, she can only see things that have happened in the world, but the extent of this is not explained, besides the fact that she lost this power to Isaac. This reminds me that Isaac "invoked" a false spirit called Nibelcole. I wonder if Kurumi will be able to use that.
'Wait...my Fallen Angel can break Sephiras...I...could I split a Sephira in two, leave one part with Kurumi and the other with me?' Now I'm interested in having that pseudo-spirit as a helper.
"Kurumi, can I change the terms of my deal?" She gives me an angry look as we start to leave, I'm carrying Nia who doesn't react much she's like a zombie or someone who has been so drugged that her brain has fried.
"Are you trying to make a fool of me, Aurelio-san? Aren't you man enough to keep your promises? Or has turning into a girl for some time broken your masculinity?" She doesn't hide the venom in her voice.
She's still angry about being reprimanded before regarding Goetia.
"I'll teach you to use a Fallen Angel." It may be stupid to teach this psychopath something capable of breaking an Angel, but I think it's worth it at the moment, and I know she knows what I'm talking about.
"...Ah yes, Fallen Angel, huh? You're full of surprises, Aurelio-san. I thought it was exclusive to you," she says.
It's not exclusive. In fact, from what I've noticed in creating mine, any spirit can have one. The spirit just needs to possess an Angel and a Demon King, it can't be two Angels or two Demon Kings, it has to be necessarily one Angel and one Demon King.
And in Nia's current state, I can make her Sephira invert, and thus we will get the Demon King Beelzebub, which ensures that Kurumi can have her Fallen Angel as a weapon.
"Well, okay, sorry for my irritation. I just don't like those who break their word so easily, but if you're going to teach me to use that, I guess I can accept a slight change of terms." She's so greedy for power.
'She probably doesn't like being deceived because she's been "deceived" in the past.' Well, it's not my problem, so I don't care much if she likes it or not, given that she's quite hypocritical since she easily deceives others.
We leave the base without much trouble, but instead of going somewhere "normal," Kurumi and I go to the ocean. I need a place where DEM will take a while to get to, after all the Fallen Angel emits a lot of power to hide at the moment.
After flying for a long time, we find an island. We must be in some corner of the Pacific Ocean. The two of us stop on the beach as I throw Nia to the sandy ground without much care.
"Okay, what I want is for you to let me split Nia's Sephira in two. Of course...there's a chance it could become useless, so I'm betting 50-50."
"...How reliable...wait, how can a Fallen Angel break a Sephira?" She quickly comes to the answer and questions, surprised.
"Yes, it can...probably. Well, I damaged a Demon King, damaging a Sephira shouldn't be too difficult...I just need to be careful not to break it too much." I'll use Reversal to keep the power of the broken Sephira.
"Okay, the bet is on, hihihi. I'm feeling lucky today, and you?" She makes a joke.
"...I think I'm lucky too." I start extracting Nia's Sephira while simultaneously forcing its inversion with Reversal and Nia's emotions as I analyze it. I have to manage to break it without it losing power.
'The most efficient result...in the anime, didn't it not go through something like this? Even though Nia had lost it, she still maintained a small part of the power with her, while Isaac lost one of his abilities. I just need to divide the power in two...' It shouldn't be too difficult.
After hours of extracting it and making an effective barrier, I think I'm ready. I wanted to get more information from Nia, but I want to do this as quickly as possible.
And if it works, I won't need Nia.
"Aurelio-san, what should we do with her?" Kurumi asks while poking Nia with her foot.
"Well, throw her in the sea, or if you're feeling merciful, kill her. After all, from the look in her eyes, she's almost a zombie without the will to live. Killing her would be merciful." Isaac probably hid many things from her mind to make her become active again in the anime.
"Or better yet, devour her. She's a former Spirit, so she must be better than regular humans." She confirms and starts sinking Nia into the shadows.
"So this is her Sephira...it's beautiful," Kurumi murmurs as I hold the Sephira.
"We have to be quick, Kurumi. I'll exhaust myself a bit, so as soon as I split the Sephira in two, teleport us somewhere else, since DEM will come to check the emitted energy."
Kurumi agrees, excited.
