Chapter 12 - The power of technology 1

A.N. The predators or Yaujta on this floor are based on the ones in the movie, with a few changes to them and their home world. I plan to use the ones from the games and comics on later floors. And for anyone wondering, the Mc will take a more active role after the third floor.

Sorry for the Delay for chapters I've been so busy with school and work I barley have time to write. I'm rewriting the next 4 chapters and didn't want to wait another week to realse all 5 at the same time. I'll drop them through out the week so you guys can have the 5 promised chapters this week.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3rd person pov Mountain region

In the air, Tony Stark was shooting repulsor blasts at the 4 predators on the floor. His first two shots hit two different predators causing them to fall onto the floor, and once seeing them fall onto the floor Kenpachi holding his Zanpakto charged at the two on the floor. He managed to slash one of them in the stomach causing light green blood to come gushing out, while the second took the time to stand back up and swing his wrist blades. Kenpachi who was now limited to the strength of a normal human saw the attack but wasn't fast enough to completely dodge the attacks. His right arm was cut causing blood to drip from it.

" Hey, Spikey you..." Tony initially worried about Kenpachi but was surprised to see him grinning like a mad beast.

' Does this guy have some sort of weird fetishes?' Tony focused back on the two remaining predators, he noticed that three of them had similar masks but one was different. This one was slightly larger and had a mask that looked like a Grizzly bear. Tony noted the fact unlike the other 3 who dodged his repulsor blasts or used a shield to block them that one shot a plasma blast from what looked like a shoulder plasma gun. Tony fired many small missiles from his shoulder gun, in the distance a group of soldiers armed with machine guns and other guns ran to join the fight.

They were led by James Rhodes who hadn't received the Warhammer armor yet, once they were in range they began to fire at the predators. They managed to kill the one injured by Kenpachi and kill another predator. ( A.N. I'm going to call the Grizzly bear predator Grizzly just so I don't have to keep writing out Grizzly bear predator) Grizzly Had already noticed the group and went invisible and was already heading their way, tony noticed due to his armor having thermal vision just like the Predators.

Tony couldn't get a connection with them and he had to fly toward them but before he could the last of the three predators threw a disc at him causing him to fire repulsor blasts but missing. When he managed to hit it it was close to him and the disc blew up, the force of the disc blowing up caused Tony to lose control for a bit and fall onto the ground. The predator planned on heading towards the fallen Ironman but a slash to his side made it look behind him only to see Kenpachi smiling and holding a sword.

It began to start raining a lot, the predator took off its helmet to reveal the Yautja's face, greenish-gray skin with four large, tusk-like mandibles, which open outward. The Yautja let out a roar and spread his arms outwards taking a battle position and holding a silver combat stick.

" HAHAHAHAHAH, bring it on you monster!" Kenpach ran towards the Yautja, but the heavy rain didn't stop these two warriors from clashing. Tony recovered from the fall and saw Kenpachi clashing with the Yaujta was impressed but the sounds of gunfire and a man yelling in the distance reminded him of his friend, looking at Kenpachi on last time he flew towards James Rhodes.

Kenpachi even if he was weakened and reduced to the strength of a normal human didn't stop him from fighting like he had always had. His swordsmanship had been refined from years of countless battles with different enemies, so when fighting the alien who was physically stronger than him he could stand his ground.

The Yautja lunged forward, its combat stick extended into a deadly spear, aiming directly for Kenpachi's chest. With a gleeful grin, Kenpachi twisted his body to the side, narrowly dodging the thrust, the tip of the weapon slicing through the rain-soaked air. The Yaujta's roar echoed through the storm, but Kenpachi laughed louder, his blade swinging upward in a clean arc that scraped sparks off the Yautja's shoulder armor.

"Come on now! I know you can do better than this!" Kenpachi shouted, his voice cutting through the thunder.

The Yautja reeled back, its mandibles clicking in frustration. It adjusted its stance, bringing its spear around in a wide, sweeping motion aimed to catch Kenpachi off balance. But Kenpachi was ready. Dropping into a low crouch, he avoided the blow and countered with a horizontal slash aimed at the alien's exposed midsection.

The Yautja twisted its torso with inhuman speed, evading the strike, and retaliated with a swift kick to Kenpachi's ribs. The force of the blow sent Kenpachi sliding backward in the mud, his feet digging deep trenches into the ground to stop himself from toppling over. He coughed, feeling the impact rattle his entire frame, but his grin never faltered.

"That all you got? I've fought brats who hit harder!" he taunted, raising his sword again.

The Yautja tilted its head, studying him, its glowing green blood dripping from the shallow cuts Kenpachi had managed to land. Its eyes narrowed, and it activated its wrist blades with a metallic sound, dual serrated edges gleaming menacingly. It leaped forward with astonishing speed, closing the gap between them in a single bound.

Kenpachi's eyes gleamed with excitement as he sidestepped the downward slash of the wrist blades, narrowly avoiding being impaled. He retaliated with a brutal downward swing of his sword, aiming for the Yautja's skull. The alien warrior raised its combat stick just in time, the two weapons clashing with a sharp metallic clang.

The strength behind the Yautja's block forced Kenpachi's blade upward, leaving him open for a split second. The alien capitalized, slamming the butt of its combat stick into his stomach with enough force to make him stagger. Kenpachi stumbled back a step, gripping his sword tighter, and wiped the rainwater from his face with his free hand.

"You're a tricky one," he muttered, his grin widening into something almost feral.

"I like that. Makes it more fun!"

The Yautja roared again, its mandibles flaring wide as it launched another flurry of strikes, alternating between its wrist blades and combat stick. Kenpachi parried and dodged with practiced precision, his years of experience keeping him one step ahead of the alien's relentless assault. But even he couldn't ignore the growing strain in his muscles.

This wasn't like his usual battles, where his overwhelming spiritual pressure gave him an edge. Now, with only his raw skill and instinct, every movement had to be calculated, every strike deliberate. Yet, despite the challenge, or perhaps because of it Kenpachi felt more alive than ever. What he didn't notice was that during the fight he was improving his basic abilities like his reaction speed, sword skills, and other physical attributes. The growth wasn't significant, it wasn't something that would enhance his overall combat abilities but if he dedicated time to train here for a month or even a week then when leaving the tower he would notice the growth in his abilities. Unknowingly Kenpachi was experiencing one of the secrets of the second floor, Optimized Growth.

"You're not bad, alien," he said, his voice breathless but eager.

He lunged forward, feinting a low strike before twisting his wrist and bringing his blade upward toward the Yautja's neck. The alien barely avoided the blow, but the edge of Kenpachi's sword grazed its mandibles, drawing a thin line of glowing green blood.

The Yautja hissed in anger, its glowing eyes narrowing as it stepped back, reassessing the human before it. Kenpachi laughed, pointing his blade at the alien.

"Come on, big guy. Don't tell me you're scared now!"

The Yautja let out a guttural growl, raising its combat stick again. The rain continued to pour, thunder cracking overhead, as the two warriors prepared to clash once more but this time a victor would emerge. The two clashed again this time during the exchange each of them suffered damages from cuts and slashes they gave each other.

Kenpachi stood in the pouring rain, his blood mixing with the mud beneath his feet. His breaths were ragged, his once-mighty frame now riddled with deep gashes from the Yautja's relentless assault. The alien hunter loomed before him, its mandibles twitching as it bled glowing green ichor from countless wounds. Both warriors were battered, but neither was willing to fall first. With a final roar, the Yautja lunged, its wrist blades aimed straight at Kenpachi's heart. Kenpachi's grin widened, blood dripping from his lips as he let out a thunderous laugh.

"This is what I live for!" With a burst of raw willpower, he sidestepped the strike and drove his blade upward in one fluid motion, piercing through the Yautja's chest and out the other side. The alien let out a guttural roar, its mandibles spasming before it collapsed to its knees. Kenpachi stood over it, his body trembling but his spirit unbroken, as he yanked his sword free in one last, triumphant swing. The Yautja fell, lifeless, its blood glowing faintly in the rain as Kenpachi finally dropped to one knee, laughing weakly.

"Damn... you were a tough one." Falling onto the floor Kenpachi smiled, and a glowing light caught his attention. Standing up he saw from the Yaujta he killed the Yaujta armor and weapons as well as a Returner Stone. Placing them in his storage back he stood up and walked over to the noises in the distance.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Meanwhile

Tony flew overreached to where the soldiers were and what he saw made him nauseous. Tony hovered above the field, his armor scanning the area, but what his sensors picked up was far worse than he could have imagined. The ground was littered with bodies, soldiers torn apart by the ferocity of the Yautja. Their weapons lay discarded, some of them still smoking from the futile resistance they'd put up. The rain had mixed with the blood, turning the earth into a grim, red slush. Only James Rhodes remained, kneeling beside a fallen comrade, his body armor was ripped apart, his face set in grim determination. The sound of Tony's thrusters alerted Rhodes, who looked up, his eyes wide with relief and worry.

"Tony," Rhodes said, voice tight with frustration.

"You're just in time to clean up the mess."

But Tony didn't hear him, his focus was entirely on the Yautja standing a short distance away. Grizzly had made quick work of the soldiers, and now it was turning its attention toward him. The grizzly bear mask seemed to glimmer in the rain, the eyes on the mask glowed for a second.

Tony quickly activated his thermal vision and immediately locked onto Grizzly's heat signature. The predator was invisible to the naked eye, but not to the specialized sensors in Tony's suit. He could make out the faintest outline of the alien, its hulking form almost a silhouette in the downpour. Grizzly was preparing for another strike, a plasma caster already aimed in his direction.

"Not today," Tony muttered under his breath, adjusting his targeting systems. He fired a series of miniature missiles from his shoulder-mounted launchers, hoping to keep the Yautja off-balance. The missiles streaked through the air, but Grizzly was ready. With an almost casual movement, it triggered its plasma caster, and a concentrated blast of searing energy shot forward, colliding with the incoming projectiles. The explosion was deafening, sending a shockwave through the area that rattled Tony's armor and left a trail of smoldering craters in the earth.

"Damn," Tony cursed, recalibrating his weapons as he leveled his gauntlets toward the alien. Repulsor blasts filled the air, but Grizzly seemed unfazed, sidestepping each one with insane agility. The plasma caster crackled again, and this time, Tony didn't hesitate, he shot into the sky, narrowly avoiding the deadly blast that would have killed him.

Tony quickly assessed the situation. Grizzly was stronger and faster, and it was toying with him. The plasma caster alone could vaporize anything it hit, and Tony was learning just how powerful the Yautja was with its newfound weapon. In an effort to even the odds, Tony activated the energy shield built into his suit, but even that didn't seem like enough. The blast from Grizzly's plasma caster nearly tore through the shield with ease.

"Rhodey!" James grabbed his M240 Bravo and began to fire toward where the plasma blasts were being shot from. Tony wanted Rhodey to stay out of it due to worry for his friend.

Rhodes didn't reply, but Tony could hear him shooting, Tony knew that even if they fought together, they'd be outmatched. Their enemy had them outmatched, also he was running out of energy, and even if he didn't want to admit it his tech was currently outmatched. The Plasma caster gave him a headache. Grizzly appeared standing in the rain on the side of the mountain, in his hand there was a one-handed axe. He tilted his head raised his left hand and pressed some buttons on his right arm. Sounds of the soldiers dying and screaming could be heard from the machine on his right arm, Tony and Rhodes realized he was taunting them.

The Yautja vanished into the rain once more, becoming nothing more than a ghost in the storm. Tony cursed under his breath as he activated his tracking systems. He wasn't going to let this thing escape, not after what it had done. Grizzly sent a shot from his plasma caster and at the same time threw a sharp disc, tony dodged the plasma caster but the disc hit him and damaged his armor. Tony was forced to land on the ground due to the low energy and extensive damage to his armor.

Grizzly reappeared in an instant, charging toward Tony with incredible speed. With a blood-curdling roar, it slammed its shoulder into Tony causing Tony to fall onto the floor. He raised his axe ready to kill Tony but Rhodes fired a few bullets causing Grizzly to avoid them. Tony stood back up the impact that sent him crashing into the mud, caused his suit to flicker with sparks as it struggled to maintain power. Rhodes ran from his position to find a better shooting spot. Grizzly shot a plasma blast toward where he was, a loud explosion and dirt, rocks, and mud flew into the rainy air.

Tony groaned as he tried to rise, but before he could react, Grizzly was on him, its massive hands grabbing hold of his armor and lifting him off the ground. With a growl, the Yautja squeezed, the sound of twisting metal filling the air as it tried to crush Tony's suit. The Yaujta grabbed Tony's face plate and ripped it off seeing Tony's face which had bruises on it.

At that moment Grizzly was ready to kill Tony but a loud bang sound reverberated through the area, Rhodes was heavily injured, and lying on the ground a sniper shot towards Grizzly's heart. Grizzly avoided getting shot in the heart but the bullet did hit him in the right side of his chest next to his shoulder. He dropped Tony and took a step back, he looked over to where Rhodes was and the eyes on the mask glowed red.

Tony took the time he was distracted to launch an attack on him, he charged his repulsers and used some of the remaining energy to send a powerful repulsor blast towards him. The repulsar shot slammed into Grizzly's torso, the impact knocking the Yautja backward. It stumbled, giving Tony just enough time to regain his footing. He flew up going higher on the mountain they were fighting on. His repulsors flared to life once more, and with one final, desperate blast, he sent out one last blast but this time he aimed for the mountain. The heavy rain plus the mountain shaking caused a large landslide to occur. He flew to where Rhodes was grabbed him and flew in the air.

The landslide quickly reached Grizzly, he used the remaining power in the Plasma caster to shoot at the landslide but it was pointless. He was quickly engulfed in the landslide and dragged towards the bottom of the mountain. Tony found a cave and flew into it, he put Rhodes on the floor and sat and leaned on the wall of the cave. Their bodies were bloodied and battered, his suit barely holding together.

"That... was too close," he muttered, watching as the rain poured down outside. He looked over at Rhodes he saw him covered in mud and wounds all over his body.

" You know, you could've taken your vacation somewhere else." Tony joked but James looked at Tony with a deadpan look, how could Tony make jokes rn was surprising for him. The sound of the rain pounding outside the cave filled the air, the relentless downpour masked the silence between Tony and Rhodes. The flickering glow from Tony's damaged arc reactor provided the only light in the cave, illuminating their battered forms. Tony was trying to recalibrate the suit's systems, while Rhodes struggled to stay conscious. The weight of their near-death encounter hung heavily between them, but before either of them could speak again, a shadow emerged in the downpour. The sounds of heavy breathing caught their attention, and turning around what they saw sent chills down their bodies.

Lighting flashed Illuminating the figure standing at the entrance of the cave. The Yautja stepped into view, standing at the mouth of the cave, his massive form silhouetted against the storm. The mud from the landslide clung to his armor and skin but was slowly washed away by the rain, revealing the intricate patterns of his scars—marks of countless battles fought and survived. His grizzly bear mask was gone, revealing his grotesque face in full.

The four tusk-like mandibles framing his mouth twitched as he exhaled, Grizzly's chest rose and fell with a deliberate rhythm, his breath meeting the cold air to form a mist that curled around him like a shroud. His greenish-gray skin glistened in the dim light, and his sharp, predator's eyes locked onto the cave's entrance. He held a massive axe in one hand, its blade gleaming despite the rain, and his plasma caster hung uselessly on his shoulder, sparking from the damage it had sustained.

"ROAR!" Grizzly let out a roar, a deafening, guttural sound that shook the walls of the cave and seemed to freeze time itself. Grizzly walked toward the two but neither could do anything in this situation With a swing of his axe the two of them were killed instantly their visions going on black. Grizzly grabbed their skulls and with a pull ripped their skull out joint by the spine. Standing in the rain he roared and raised the two skulls signifying his triumph.

To be continued.
