Leo had gone back into her consciousness to recharge and she felt it once his physical form disappeared. He just went to recharge so there was nothing to worry about, yet... She pressed her hand on her chest... The fact that he could disappear from her life at any point in time and never appear again scared her.
She wished they would never get to that point. If he was gone then he had to come back as soon as he could. She could not... Live without him.
She faced the front and looked at the feast on the table.
Two big trays of meat didn't seem normal. They looked scrumptious and too delicious to be the beef or pork.
"Mark," Alice called while wiping the saliva that kept rushing down the corners of her mouth, "Which meat is this? When did you learn to prepare meat like this? You grilled and roasted such big portions of meat. How long did it take you?" She asked but then shook her head. "No, first, what meat is this? It smells so good that I want to dig in right away."
