Max reached out and picked up a sleek, silver pistol engraved with faint glowing runes. The moment his fingers touched the grip, a notification appeared before him.
[You have selected the Arcane Pistol as your starting weapon. Confirm selection?]
He hesitated for a moment before pressing Yes. The pistol felt light in his hand, perfectly balanced.
"Good choice," the NPC said with a nod. "Arcane Pistols use Mana Bullets instead of regular ammunition, making them a strong choice for magic users. You can craft higher-tier bullets later or modify the gun as you progress."
Max smiled. A gun-wielding mage, huh? That sounds fun.
"Now that you've chosen your weapon, it's time for the final step—selecting your Starting Zone," the NPC continued, waving her hand as a new screen appeared before Max.
Several options were displayed:
The options were simple—a vast continent inhabited by humans, divided into many kingdoms.
[Do you want to see the specifics of each kingdom?] the NPC asked.
Max nodded, and after reviewing each kingdom, he finally chose one that seemed promising.
It was a coastal kingdom, located near the sea, known for its water mages and rich trade routes. It also had a long history of dealing with sea monsters, making it an ideal place for adventurers seeking challenges.
[You have selected the Kingdom of Veyron as your starting location. Confirm selection?]
Max pressed Yes, and the screen faded to black. A moment later, a rush of sensations overwhelmed him—his body felt weightless, like he was being pulled through a vortex.
Then, light.
Max found himself standing in the middle of a bustling harbor town. The scent of salt filled the air, and the sound of seagulls echoed above. Around him, merchants shouted, sailors loaded cargo onto ships, and armored guards patrolled the streets.
A notification appeared before him:
[Welcome to the Kingdom of Veyron! Your adventure begins now.]
Max stretched his fingers, feeling the weight of the Arcane Pistol strapped to his waist. He smirked. Time to see what this world has to offer.
Before he could take a step, a voice called out to him.
"Hey, you there!"
Max turned to see a rugged man with a leather coat and a cutlass at his waist. The man grinned.
"You look new around here. Looking for work?"
[New Quest]
[Tutorial]
[Follow the man and learn how to use the Arcane Pistols.]
"But you look like a newbie," the man said, eyeing Max. "Why don't you head to the training center first? I'm an instructor there. If you meet me, I'll teach you a good skill on how to use it properly."
A second quest notification appeared in front of Max:
[New Quest: Training Test]
Objective: Score at least 95/100 in your first tutorial test to unlock a skill.
Failure Condition: Scoring below 75 will result in no rewards.
"I almost forgot," the instructor added with a smirk. "There's a risk involved. Make sure you score well, or you won't get anything."
Max exhaled, feeling the challenge ahead. Without hesitation, he followed the man, ready to prove himself.
Max followed the instructor through the crowded streets, weaving past merchants and sailors until they reached a large stone building with a sign that read "Veyron Training Hall."
Inside, the hall was spacious, filled with combat dummies, weapon racks, and several recruits practicing their techniques. The sound of gunshots, spells, and clashing weapons echoed through the air.
The instructor led Max to a private training area, where a row of Arcane Pistol targets floated in midair. Some were stationary, while others moved unpredictably.
[Quest Updated: Training Test]
[Shoot down 10 targets and score at least 95/100 to pass.]
The instructor crossed his arms. "Alright, let's see if you've got the talent for this. Aim carefully—precision is key."
" but first here is how to make Magic Bullets" he said giving him a skill as he learned it.
Max took a deep breath and gripped his Arcane Pistol. Unlike regular firearms, it didn't use bullets but instead harnessed magic energy. He focused, channeling his mana into his weapon.
A faint glow pulsed along the barrel.
Bang!
The first shot fired, hitting the target dead center. A small notification appeared:
[Perfect Hit! +10 Points]
Max smirked. This might be easier than I thought.
But just as he lined up his second shot, the targets suddenly began moving faster. The difficulty had increased.
Max narrowed his eyes. Alright, let's see what you've got.
He fired again.
Max's second shot landed just off-center, but still within the bullseye.
[Great Hit! +9 Points]
The targets continued to speed up, moving in erratic patterns. Some blinked out of existence for a split second before reappearing elsewhere. Others spun wildly, making them even harder to hit.
Max adjusted his grip, instinctively relying on his reflexes. His training with Vale had prepared him for this—while he may be new to this world, he wasn't a stranger to fast-paced challenges.
He exhaled and fired.
Bang!
[Perfect Hit! +10 Points]
He fired again.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Three consecutive shots hit their marks, each scoring a perfect 10/10.
[Perfect Hit! +10 Points]
[Perfect Hit! +10 Points]
[Perfect Hit! +10 Points]
Max grinned. Got it.
The instructor raised an eyebrow. "Not bad. Looks like you're getting the hang of it."
The final targets appeared—these were smaller and faster. A true test of accuracy.
Max didn't hesitate. He activated his high Agility, allowing his reflexes to sharpen. His pistol hummed as he fired off the last rounds in rapid succession.
Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!
The last four targets shattered in perfect sync.
[Perfect Hit! +10 Points]

A golden notification flashed in front of Max.
[Quest Completed: Training Test]
[Reward: Skill Unlocked – Arcane Marksman Mastery(Lv.1)]
[ Bonus Reward : Elemental Bullets ]
The instructor let out a low whistle. "Well, damn. A newbie scoring this high? You're a natural." He patted Max on the back. "With skills like that, you'll go far. Keep training, and you might just become one of the best."
Max smirked. "That's the plan."
