ISABELLA
As I stood in front of the mirror, the soft glow of the morning light illuminated my reflection, highlighting the contours of my face.
I was lost in thought, my mind preoccupied with the tasks ahead, when the sudden sound of the door opening broke the silence. My gaze shifted, and I turned to see who had entered.
I had been expecting him the whole night, and now he came in the morning looking so exhausted. Yeah, I could see that in his eyes, but weirdly I couldn't even be mad at him, because he had a way of making my heart skip a beat.
He moved with quiet confidence, his long strides eating up the distance between us.
A small smile played on his lips, and his eyes, those piercing eyes, locked onto mine through the mirror making my pulse quicken.
My voice barely above a whisper, I asked, "Why are you here now?"
His response was not what I expected. Instead of answering, he wrapped his arms around me from behind.
