Both their eyes' were glued to the pole.
Zilah's with a look of suspecting intrigue, and Drey with a plain sarcasm.
"What just happened?" Zilah asked.
Drey couldn't help but laugh at her question.
"He was taken— that's what happened"
Zilah waited.
Before she slowly shifted her gaze away from the Totem to stare at her classmate.
"I can see that you are not surprised, well to be truthful neither am I, but this Totem just swallowed Morgen"
The pole glimmered for a bit before dimming.
Drey turned to her:
"So?"
"So, do you not notice that we are getting separated." Zilah continued, "Picked off one by one, each at a time."
Drey thought silently for a bit, before his gaze turned disinterested.
"So"
Zilah shook her head at his reply, inwardly frustrated.
"It means, that the further we go, the greater the chances are that only one of us makes it out. While the other will be taken away, by mysterious reasons"
"Just like Ikem, Kanima and Morgen were" she finished.
