As Marashi woke up, he put on clothes and did his bathroom business before heading downstairs.
Looking at the bigger space, he felt a sense of satisfaction and progress from only a couple days of work. Going over to sit down at his desk, he pulled up his editor and got to work.
He would be adding the Multiplayer section to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 1.
There would be quite a few things that would need changing. First, obviously, there were no physical or otherwise servers to host games on since his system took care of that, so he left it alone. He also added weapon camos but not too in-depth. Gold would be 1000 headshots which if you get 20 kills every game, would take about 12 and a half hours to grind. It would also be easier to get headshots if you're in VR so it balances out, plus there will be multiple guns.
Marashi then had a brilliant idea. He created another camo that would be 5000 headshots, that camo would be more like a modern-day skin. It would be a ruby red base with tiny stars dotting it with a black silhouette of the Sage of Six Paths with his Rinnegan.
Now that's sick.
Back in his previous life, the levels and ranks would be familiar to a military system but that wouldn't really translate too well here. Captain and Commander, sure, but Corporal? Private? Sergeant? Not so much. They existed for the Daimyo's army but not for shinobi.
Why not use this world's ranking system then? That sounds like a good idea to him.
There were too many levels so he decided to cut it down from 55 to 22 with the experience requirement jumping up drastically so it'd still take about the same amount of time.
Instead of the military insignias, he used the letter system like C, B, A, and so on with minuses and pluses similar to his system. It also works that there was a hierarchy of power with this like C-rank missions, B-rank jutsu, S-rank shinobi, and so on.
He also added a leaderboard with different categories but he instead called it The Bingo Book.
Also, he had removed the level requirement for Create your Class since using the default classes sucks so he just removed them entirely but put a warning that they won't be able to play if they don't make one.
Because the levels decreased, he readjusted the weapon, perk, and equipment unlocks as well.
The levels now went like this: Civilian, Dead Last, Academy Student, Rookie of the Year, Baby Genin, Fodder, Eternal Genin, Squad Leader, Chunin, ANBU, Tokubetsu Jonin, Jonin, ANBU Captain, ANBU Commander, Jonin Commander, Elite Jonin, S-Class, Kage, High-Kage, Flee on Sight, God of Shinobi.
He snuck in HighKage for a little homage to the content creator. The insignias will go from F+ to SSS.
Marashi is a bit conflicted about game modes. Search and Destroy was a classic, but he also has CSGO that he can unlock once he has the points, eventually, he decides to put the mode in the game. CSGO is a lot more tactical with buying, saving, ecos, and various strategies that COD doesn't offer. It's similar and both are great, but Counter-Strike is much more competitive and difficult which would be a great challenge.
He was also thankful that the system wasn't evil and the max pain setting in Multiplayer was 50% which was great since you'll be dying a whole lot more.
The game modes were Team Deathmatch, Domination, Headquarters aka Hardpoint, Capture the Flag, Search and Destroy, and finally Free-for-All. He thought this was a good lineup that people could enjoy, especially shinobi with the objective-based modes for training. A boon for Jonin senseis.
At this point, he'd remove Last Stand as that'd be the correct decision, but he viewed it from a different perspective. You had to make sure your enemies were dead and failing to do so will get you killed in this world, so a good lesson for the young shinobi. He also wanted to feel the salt in the air as they raged. It's all for the love of the game.
He also made it possible for the lobby host to change team sizes which will be a nice quality of life.
Marashi suddenly got inspiration from the different teams of Konoha and decided to add a new mode.
Multi-Team Deathmatch. It's as it sounds. Multiple teams in one lobby fight each other. The max size would be 4 per team with a total of 4 teams, so a player limit of 16.
That gave him the idea to create Ground War which is just the same collection of game modes apart from FFA but with team sizes being 12. This excludes Multi-TDM.
He can already imagine the chaos and explosions. If the day comes when Naruto unlocks RPGs and Claymores, this world shall know BOOM. You already have the C4 unlocked off-rip, so he'll have fun with that. Imagining Naruto with the RPG, Sonic Boom, and Martyrdom perks is a horrifying thought. Although this seems to be more of a Deidara perk setup in his opinion. He could even go for Last Stand, Dead Silence, or Eavesdrop instead of the Martyrdom perk.
It'll be fun to see what they come up with. Oh, and a fun little addition he made to the Eavesdrop perk. Usually, this works with the in-game voice chat, but he also included people who are using the Game Speak app too since it'd be a cheese if they never used the in-game option.
The Gamer Benefits are also interesting since they come from a culmination of winning games, kills, assists, and doing the objective if applicable. Pretty nice.
That also reminds him of the Wizard101 benefits as it comes from every 5 levels, PVP wins when he opens it, upgrading spells with spellements, and completing Arcs which there was only one, but it also stacks if you complete the arc on different schools for a maximum of 7. Nice replayability for strength increases alone which means more hours sunk into the game, and that means more points.
Big Business type shit.
As he finished up editing the game and pushed out the update, he was surprised by a notification.
[Congratulations on opening your first multiplayer game! You have unlocked Gamer Benefits Statistics!]
So Co-op doesn't seem to count here, but he's fine with it.
He opens his status page.

He checks out Gamer Benefits Statistics and gets an entire list of all Game Card holders. It explains exactly what will increase and even game-specific benefits. Wizard101 would increase your Nature Transformation mastery while COD would increase your physicality and chakra reserves.
Marashi was curious about how Wizard101 would affect people like Might Guy and Rock Lee since they don't really use ninjutsu or genjutsu so why would they want more chakra? Maybe for more strength in opening the gates?
What he saw shocked him as he had a wide-eyed expression.
The benefit would lessen the blowback on releasing the eight gates! That is huge since you could die using it even without opening the Gate of Death.
Truly a W moment for the system.
He had been editing for almost an hour so he had a little time for what he wanted to do next.
With the system, he created a signboard displaying the open hours of the shop: 7:00am-10:00pm.
Maybe he could host late-night gaming sessions with an increased cost of buying hours, but maybe another time. Plus he'd need to raise his vitality stat to not be dead on his feet.
Next, he had a blackboard behind the desk on the wall with Game Card privileges and Gamer Benefits listed on it.
Pretty nice, so now he doesn't need to explain it every time.
Once it turned 7, he opened the shop and was surprised by immediate visitors.
Team 7. Don't they have missions to do?
The whole squad walked in which included Kakashi.
"Come on, Kakashi-sensei! I don't have money to keep paying. Let's just do a mission already!" Naruto is willing to do D-ranks and multiple of them if it means he can keep playing.
Sakura nodded but not for the same reason. She had money since she lived with her parents but spent it all on beauty products, clothes, and getting her hair done. Like Naruto, she's broke.
Sasuke inherited the wealth of his family but saw no reason to splurge. It was fun and he understands that COD would hone his battle instincts, but nothing that would help him gain strength and power.
Kakashi just waved off the little genin before stepping up to the desk.
"You're on time with your team Kakashi-san? Has the sun risen in the west? Is Suna a tropical paradise? Has Xebec returned waging war on the five nations?" Marashi teased him.
The Jonin's eye twitched as he listened to his bullshit. His story about Xebec, the longer he thought about it, seemed more and more like nonsense. He would know since he comes up with excuses for his tardiness with genuine emotion. In his eyes at least.
Sasuke had a slight grin at seeing Marashi mess with his sensei and Sakura giggled. They too were surprised that their teacher showed up on time.
Naruto, on the other hand, had a look of horror and fear.
"XEBEC IS BACK?! KAKASHI-SENSEI! WE HAVE TO TELL THE OLD MAN! HE'LL KNOW WHAT TO DO!" Naruto was about to run out the door before he was bonked on the head by Sakura.
"HE WAS JOKING, IDIOT!" She screeched at him.
"Ow." He rubbed his head.
Kakashi sweatdropped before his entire presence changed as he stared down Marashi.
The store owner and the kids noticed. Marashi raised an eyebrow while the Genin looked nervous seeing their rarely serious sensei.
"You know, when I was training I noticed something strange. Would you like to hear it, Marashi?" He eye smiled and the young shinobi got even more frightened.
"What would that be, Kakashi-san?" He now knew what he was going to say.
"I've been a shinobi for over 20 years, so I'd like to think that I know my strength quite well. When I started playing your games, why do I feel that my chakra reserves and Lightning Release mastery have increased? Not a natural increase either. Care to explain?" He still eye smiled at him.
What he didn't say was that the toll that his Sharingan took on his reserves had also decreased, but until Sasuke awakened him, he didn't feel like sharing that information.
"20 YEARS?! I KNEW YOU WERE OLD, OLD MAN KAKASHI!" Naruto accused.
He was bonked again.
"THAT'S WHAT YOU GOT FROM THAT?!" Sakura screamed at him as she understood what her sensei was saying. Did these games make them stronger?
Both Sasuke and Sakura didn't think Kakashi looked like he was in his 30s, but they didn't know for sure. If he wasn't, didn't that mean he became a shinobi before he was at least 10?
Sasuke wondered if he was like his brother in that regard, but that just made him angry just thinking about it.
Instead, he focused on what Kakashi was implying.
'Could I really get stronger playing these games? I did notice that I got a little better at using Fire Release, but I thought that was just from my training.' Sasuke had a sharp gaze directly on the store owner. He hoped he was correct. Another way to close the gap and kill his brother.
"The Gamer Benefits? Yeah, that's what it does." Marashi shrugged.
The Genin all had shocked faces before Kakashi's eyebrows narrowed.
"Then wh–" He was interrupted by the bell signaling people walked in.
"KAKASHI, MY RIVAL! YOU'RE HERE TOO?! LET US EMBRACE THE FLAMES OF YOUTH TOGETHER!" Might Guy let out a raucous laugh.
It was Team 8, 10, and Team Guy.
"Neji-niisan." She greeted quietly.
The Hyuga in question sneered at her and ignored what she said.
"Didn't think the Dead Last would be here." Kiba mocked.
"YOU WANNA GO, DOG BREATH?!" Naruto got right in his face.
"Start fighting and you're banned," Marashi warned.
Sorry, Marashi-san." He chuckled nervously rubbing the back of his head and backing off.
The rest of the Genin apart from Team Guy was shocked knowing Naruto's temperament. What could he have done to warrant such respect from the hyperactive blond? All their senseis said was that they'd be having special training today. Could this Marashi be strong?
"Anyway, you said that it would develop combat instincts and teamwork. Now you're saying it can increase chakra reserves and Nature Transformation proficiency. Why didn't you say that before?" Kakashi questioned.
The kids not in the know were confused about what he was talking about, but the senseis turned serious upon Kakashi's accusation.
"What's going on, Marashi?" Guy stated in a rare form of sternness without shouting. His Genin also became more alert.
Marashi shook his head in amusement.
"That's simple. Would you have believed it when I told you?" It was that straightforward.
Kakashi was taken aback but thought about it. The technology and entering a virtual world, a game world, was insane and unexplainable. Genjutsu couldn't do this and he sensed there was no chakra being used, but he still wouldn't have believed it.
The thought of just sitting there with your real body motionless and your consciousness in a game increasing Nature Transformation mastery? That made no sense at all, so the shopkeeper had a good point.
His colleagues also had the same line of thinking as well.
"Hmm, you got a point, but how does it actually work? That part still doesn't add up." Kakashi asked.
Marashi had a helpless smile.
'You think I know?' It was system fuckery, but he couldn't just say that.
He took a deep breath before speaking again.

Another installment of CCSiN.
I'll probably do bonus chapters for this fic, but I have to build them up first.
Appreciate the support on the return!
Later!
