Eleanor sat in the passenger seat, her arms folded tightly against her chest as the car sped down the dark, winding road.
The eerie silence between her and Damon only made the atmosphere worse.
She had asked him over and over again where they were going, but each time, he had simply smirked and told her to wait and see.
She didn't like it, not one bit.
Her fingers dug into the leather seat as she glanced at him. Damon's face was cold, his grip on the wheel firm, his eyes fixed on the road ahead.
He looked calm, completely at ease, but that only made her more uneasy. Then, she finally broke the silence.
"Damon, where exactly are we going?"
"Patience, sweetheart." A slow, amused smile tugged at his lips.
"Don't sweetheart me!" Eleanor scowled. "You dragged me out of the hotel in the middle of the night without telling me why. I have a right to know."
"Will you just stop always acting like you have a choice." He snapped and the words sent a chill down her spine.
