All who witnessed the process of Regigigas forcibly suppressing the two Landorus were silent.
The legendary Pokémon, it's terrifying.
In the eyes of everyone, Landorus was already incredibly powerful, capable of destroying cities and toppling nations effortlessly, yet it had no power to fight back against Regigigas.
How could one describe such a scenario?
As weak as a harmless egg.
Just one slap—likely without even using a move—and no more resistance.
After a while, after confirming that Landorus hadn't returned, Denver led the crowd to search for anything missing in this desolate, abyssal battlefield.
The members of Chris and Theodore's experimental team returned to the camp to rest.
Chris returned to the camp, first calling his teacher to report the events, then heading to a large tree near the corner to open the secret base and rest.
When he first lay down, he wasn't in a hurry to sleep, his mind racing with excitement and shock.
Excitement from seeing a legendary Pokémon; shock at the overwhelming strength of Regigigas.
But the sheer number of astonishing events that day had taken a toll. Physically exhausted, Chris fell asleep in just over ten minutes.
When he woke up the next day, the camp was abuzz with discussions about last night's battle of gods.
By noon, news of the events had leaked. Reporters from China arrived to broadcast live from the battlefield, now marked by the aftermath of the clash of gods.
The experimental team members were also interviewed. However, no one mentioned Theodore.
Denver had firmly instructed everyone to keep the details confidential beforehand.
That evening, numerous trainers from China began arriving to explore the Mayan Forest.
Some came to witness the aftermath of the divine battle—a rare spectacle.
Others came seeking profit. Their logic was simple: such a clash must have resulted in some legendary Pokémon items being left behind. Finding one would be a huge stroke of fortune.
The first batch of such treasure hunters arrived that night. More trickled in the following days.
However, no reports of discoveries emerged.
For Chris, life these days wasn't much different from normal. He attended classes in the morning, completed tasks in the afternoon, and worked on his power generation project underground in the evening. Meanwhile, his chief was busy training Venusaur.
Perhaps fueled by the thrill of seeing Regigigas and the two Landorus, Chris worked even harder, pushing for a 100% power storage progress.
The last thunderstorm he encountered had brought another legendary Pokémon encounter.
This time, it was Tapu Fini, at level 84.
What luck—a formidable opponent that overwhelmed Chris completely.
So far, he had encountered three legendary Pokémon at the Underground Power Plant.
Their levels were 89, 75, and 84, respectively.
Given the apparent strength of these Pokémon, Chris realized it was unrealistic for him to capture a legendary Pokémon any time soon.
He decided it was better to focus on leveling up steadily.
One Sunday, a rest day with no morning classes, Chris was still assigned a task.
His mission was to capture a Raticate.
Capturing Pokémon is always a challenging task. Even though Raticate is quite common in the forest, Chris was experiencing a peculiar phenomenon.
When a Pokémon isn't needed, they seem to appear frequently. Yet, when sought, they're nowhere to be found.
This was exactly Chris's problem today. He wandered the outer region of the Mayan Forest.
Nothing.
Perhaps the aftermath of the Landorus battle had caused Pokémon in the vicinity to scatter. At least, that seemed to be the case near the camp.
Chris released Venusaur, climbed onto its back, and ventured deeper into the Mayan Forest.
As he left the forest's outer areas, Chris noticed an increasing number of "treasure hunters" scattered around. Their faces betrayed their frustrations.
"Looks like it'll be another ten days with no findings," someone muttered.
Chris reflected on the situation. "Speaking of treasure hunting, I wasn't even looking for treasures marked on the Mayan Forest map. But considering the battle between two Landorus and Regigigas here, there could be plenty of valuable items in this area!"
After traveling another thousand meters, Chris checked his surroundings to ensure no one was nearby, then pulled out the Dowsing Machine.
Buzz! The Dowsing Machine immediately locked onto a signal to the northeast.
"That's deeper into the Mayan Forest," Chris noted. "That's also where the two Landorus appeared."
The strength of the signal suggested a legendary Pokémon item.
"Could it be Landorus's sacred relic?" Chris mused, recalling what Theodore had said earlier. "Or perhaps something related to Regigigas?"
His pulse quickened with excitement. With such a strong Lock On, Chris knew he couldn't ignore the opportunity.
Switching from Venusaur to Flygon, Chris took to the skies, soaring over the forest. Previously, when he and Theodore had been working together, they'd avoided flying to prevent provoking attacks from the local Flying Pokémon. But after the clash involving Landorus, the Flying Pokémon had likely redrawn their territorial boundaries. Now, soaring through the skies was smooth and uninterrupted.
After several minutes of flying, Chris noticed the area thinning out, with fewer and fewer people around. Crossing a mountain ridge, he reached an A-level danger zone of the Mayan Forest. He descended carefully from the sky.
To prepare for potential threats, Chris released Gardevoir and had it use Confusion to Lock On to him, ensuring he would be alerted to any approaching attacks. He then called out Venusaur again to continue their journey on foot.
Chris traversed nearly a hundred meters before the Dowsing Machine indicated the treasure's location was shifting. The signal moved from directly ahead to somewhere diagonally downward.
"Underground?" he wondered.
"Steelix, use Dig!" Chris commanded.
Steelix wasted no time, its tapered head slicing into the ground like an anchor through water. The Pokémon carved through the earth efficiently. Chris then released Garchomp to assist. Both Pokémon worked together, carving a descending path for Chris.
The treasure wasn't far. The limited range of the Dowsing Machine's Lock On meant they had to be close. Within just two or three minutes, Chris and his team arrived at a wide, hollow cavern.
Chris was immediately struck by the sight. A tiny gap in the stratum above let a single ray of light pierce through, illuminating the cavern like a focused beam. The light struck the center of the hollow, sharp as a lance.
The light revealed something extraordinary—a dry, ancient tree about half a person's height. Its withered, gnarled appearance gave it an aura of mystery.
Chris's heart skipped a beat. He immediately recognized the artifact.
"Is this... Landorus's tail?"
