Reeling from the shame, anger, embarrassment of his break up with the love of his life publicly, Kieran White had gotten involved with a common waitress at the pub he visited. Once I started, it was hard to stop. Noah always went to work after dropping me off there, and while it wasn't open to customers, I still baked and did a little bit of people watching. 


It felt nice, seeing them go about their various business, knowing that if I opened the place and arranged different pastries in the show glasses, they would come in and make a purchase.


Noah had tried to get me to give it a trial, but I refused. The crowd would be too overwhelming, and I might end up having a panic attack.


Regardless of all these though, I baked. And Noah indulged me a lot. He drove back here after work and sampled each and every one of whatever I baked that day.


I sent some as packages to Harriet too, and my best friend was amused but delighted at the same time. Macarons were her favourite, so I always made them for her.
