Noah bought me a bakery.
It was fully stocked too, with all sizes of pans imaginable. There was nothing missing, as far as I saw, and the sheer thoughtfulness stunned me into silence.
"I'm sorry, Cee. Genuinely. I didn't mean to hurt your feelings with my actions. And I am sorry it took me this long to apologise. I didn't know what you would like," he said softly.
My heart stuttered in my chest. This was an apology. Noah bought me a bakery to apologise.
I didn't know how to feel about it. There was a weird bubble in my chest and it was making me…mushy.
"Say something, please," he whispered after a long while. The silence had stretched between us the longer I said nothing, and I guess it was starting to get awkward for him.
I turned to him, and he looked taken aback. Then, very slowly, he raised his hand to my face and wiped a lone tear away.
"Hey. I really hope this is happy tears," he stated gently. I laughed then, the bubble in my chest rushing to my head.
